Geo: 48.8566, 2.35097This morning we decided to go on the hop on hop off bus, so we can get around Paris and familiarise us with what is around. We didn't have any breakfast this morning, it wasn't included in this hotel, although we could have paid €19 per person to eat....no thanks! We walked up the street to find where the Hop on, hop off bus left from, and we jumped on the Green line. From here, we went past the Opera Theatre, then made our way down to the very tight arches, where the double decker bus squeezed through, which you would think we're possible, and then appeared the Louvre. We could stop at any point around this route, but we stayed on. From this point, we could also see the Eiffel Tower, just past ... read more

Geo: 48.8566, 2.35097Well time to move on yet again, next stop Paris! After checking on my phone at our itinerary, checking our train time, 12.49pm, we once again waddled down for breakfast, today was no different than other days, still vey busy in this room, too many people, not enough tables. We did get one eventually and we sat down and ate, and afterwards as we had time, we walked down several blocks, looking at shops and just going in different shops just to use up some time, so we probably walked about 2km before heading back to our room to check out. There was no 'sorry about your cheese and drinks going missing-here's €10 to cover your costs!' Just a Bye... Not much else to do when you have suitcases in tow so we went ... read more

Geo: 50.0924, 8.68195Today, we were going to go separate ways, Clint was going to the Trade Show, and Nikki and I were going to go sightseeing on a Hop on, Hop off bus around Frankfurt. We showered and went down for breakfast, such a busy little breakfast room with so many people getting ready also to go to the trade fair. Again, we ate till we popped, and then walked to the train station, seeing Clint off at the tram stop out the front of the Main Train station. Nikki and I went inside to get our tickets for the bus, €15 each for all day.We jumped on the blue double decker bus outside and awaited our departure. We sat up the top so we had a better view. Once started, we crossed over the Rhine ... read more

Geo: 50.0924, 8.68195Actually had a good nights sleep for once, but still woke up at 4.12am. So checked Facebook, emails, same old office stuff!! About 6.30, woke Clint and then once again, jumped out of bed for showers and breakfast. We got to the breakfast room and there was so many people there and we had to wait for a table. A lady made room for us at her table and we sat down and got breakfast. We got ready to go to the trade fair, and then we walked to the tram stop across the road to catch the No 16 tram to the fair. We travelled 4 stops then half the people on the tram got off!! Clint raced to the line up, so excited he was actually here! Today, Nikki was experiencing her ... read more

Geo: 50.0924, 8.68195One of these days, I'm going to get a decent night sleep, still having trouble sleeping, and it doesn't help when 2 people snore! We had showers, and we went to the ground floor for breakfast, all we seem to do is eat!! The breakfast was included in this hotel, once again, there is so many choices, breads, croissants, cereals and yogurts, fruits, jams, sliced meats and as always, coffee!!Our next train to Frankfurt is at 10.00am, so instead of having to go back to get our bags, we took them with us. Today we are leaving Switzerland and heading to Germany. As we are going to a different country, I thought we would need to get our passports stamped, but no sign of any customs place. As we were early, our train time wasn't ... read more

Geo: 47.38, 8.54After a good nights sleep in our family room, we all got up and showered ready for breakfast, again it was toasts, spreads, ham and turkey, croissants and cheeses. There was also yoghurts and fruit too plus coffee. We went back and tidied our bags and then we all went our shopping, Melanie and Nikki heading to close by shops, while Clint and I jumped on a bus and took us over to Rive, this is the oldest part of the city (south from the lake) and was once surrounded by protective walls. Although the walls are no more, the Old Town still remains, built on the tallest hill in the city and topped by Saint Peters Cathedral. We checked out the church but it wasn't open today. We wandered along the street, a ... read more

Geo: 46.2038, 6.13996During the night, like about 3am, out in the street you could here people heading down the street after probably partying all night, singing and yelling, heading towards the train station, not that Clint would have heard it as he was too busy snoring! I got up about 5.30am, made a coffee and stayed in bed. Always busy writing blogs, checking emails, Facebook, blah, blah, blah!!When I finally got up at 7.30am, I checked out the window and we had a dusting of snow! So exciting!! After showering, we collected the girls and caught the subway to Ouchy, sort of like the Glenelg version of Adelaide, but today, after the snow, it seemed different than last week! We showed Melanie around this area as last week she wasn't with us. Back on the subway, ... read more

Geo: 46.5196, 6.63212Today, breakfast doesn't start until 7.30am, so time for a sleep in, well if only I could sleep, coughing all night, hopefully I can shove thus bug where it fits, I never get sick, but obviously a change in pace from work, being tired and run down, it had to catch up! We went downstairs for breakfast, lovely hot coffee, we had a great choice of foods once again! Our train departure today is at 12.15pm, so we had time to wander the streets of Zermatt. We rang Katie and Ross on face time, Michael was there too and showed them through the town, it was -10 whist we were walking, so holding onto the phone, my fingers froze many times. It was a beautiful crisp morning. After this, we wandered through other streets, found ... read more

Geo: 46.0193, 7.74603After a very unsettled night, only because I was coming down with some bug that Melanie shared, so during the night I was coughing, sneezing and burning up. Breakfast was included in this Hotel which was great as I couldn't be bothered going out looking for food. Food here is not cheap in Switzerland, and when we are living off takeaways, it's hard to find cheap meals. We went down for breakfast after our showers, and was shown to our table. The breakfast looked amazing, all individual serves for a lot of items. Champagne was included along with coffee as well, what a mixture!!The train trip to Zermatt was at 10.05am so after breakfast Clint and I had a chance to explore the other end of Interlaken. Across the road was a park that ... read more

Geo: 46.6855, 7.8559We awoke early, ( surprise surprise!!) and went out walking, exploring in a different direction in search fir breakfast. This area seemed to be more residential area as there wasn't many food shops around. We managed to find a bakery though. Lucerne is a German speaking town, so this bakery was a German one, lots of small hand made biscuits and petit cakes. We headed back towards the River, the girls left us to go back to the Hotel, while we crossed the Chapel Bridge one more time to find some souvenir shops. Back to our room to check out, crossed the road for the Train Station and found our Platform, this time we are headed to Interlaken on the Golden Pass Panoramic train. The train had not arrived as yet, we waited nearby ... read more
