Finally! After 4 weeks of travelling we have made it to our most exotic location yet .... ROCHDALE!! Thank you for following our blog those of you who have been doing. I hope we provided some entertainment and if not at least it kept my family informed of our whereabouts. Back to reality now, and if that means somebody there to greet us at the airport (not my parents of course as they were late =p) ... well if that's what reality is it's great to be back. Nosheen & Liz... read more

We left Washington on Saturday for NYC, which ment we had our first night out in New York as soon as we arrived. Our hostel runs a night out for $30 which includes a limo, free vodka, entry to a 5 story club and a generally amazing night. We went through Times Square for a photo before heading downtown to what is appparently the biggest club in New York. 5 floors, each with a different type of music and there waas 11 people out in our group who we met (and got drunk with) in the limo. The night was absolutely amazing, made even better by the giant pizza slice we got on the way home, and not at all dampened (excuse the pun) by the massive rain storm that began whilst we were in the ... read more

On our last day in Florida we decided we did NOT want to be caught in a freak storm again and so spent the day in the biggest mall in Florida (the rain held off until we got back of course). Sawgrass mall is a must for anybody in the area who likes a bargin - I got a pair of jeans that should have been $17:99 for $5, and Liz managed to get 3 pairs of shoes for less than $70. Our only issue was baggage allowance on the plane, but with some rearranging of items (from the suitcase to the bin) we fit everything in =D Yesterday we came to Washington DC, it's amazing! It's hot in the sun but nice and cool in the shade which makes a lovely change from the humid ... read more

On our last day in Texas we didn't really have a lot to do. It's not the most 'touristy' of places - which was quite a nice change really as we have been to a lot of very crowded places and Austin was very laid back, quiet and clean! After checking out we went to the Capitol building (their government building) for a look around. They were scarily strict at letting people in and I got grilled about what was in my big bag that I've been carrying round .. Eep. The building was really beautiful but unfortunately as we are both pretty ignorant of American history we couldn't really have been less interested. So to pass the time and get out of the heat we went to the cinema and watched the change up ... ... read more

Hi, sorry for not writing in so long. For our last day in San Fran we had already seen the main tourist attractions and so we just decided to have a chilled day and walk to the park. When we got there we decided to go and keep walm in the museum - San Fransisco is also known as Fog City and so is quite chilly! The Academy of Science in Golden Gate Park is amazing!! We had been to the aquarium by the pier the day before but the museum was a lot better and had an aquarium too. We spent the day watching the coral reef which was really stunning, and walked through a glass walkway which mimicked the flooded rainforest floor. The also had a planetarium with shows throughout the day included in ... read more

Sorry we haven't wrote in a while Las Vgeas took it out on us, been in San Francisco for three days now and still absolutely shattered. The first day we arrived we caught up on some well needed sleep and met some people in the hostel we are staying in. We met one guy from Manchester abd someonefrom Quebec, we ended up getting some drinks from the nearby store and drinking out on the veranda for a while then sleeping. We havent actually got round to doing an open top tour bus anywhere yet so we decided to do one around San Francisco and bought a two day pass. The first day we generally explored the areas and saw Little Italy and had a delicious panni for our lunch! YUMMY! From there we got back on ... read more

We booked an excursion out to the Grand Canyon today - I would advise anybody to go if they ever get the chance, it was absolutely stunning. We went to the west rim which is a bit closer than the south rim and has the Skywalk. This is a glass bottomed bridge which sticks out 70ft at over 4000ft above the bottom of the canyon. Liz is scared of heights so she didn't come out on the bridge but she did get pretty close to the edge! Even for somebody that isn't scared of heights though the glass bridge is quite unnerving. As I first went out and the cliff face just dropped away from me I did feel a little dizzy but as I walked further out I just found it absolutely amazing. The floor ... read more

We've been in Vegas for 2 days so far, tomorrow we are going to the Grand Canyon and we leave first thing Sunday so I guess we have seen and done as much as we can whilst we're here. Yesterday, after catching up on lost sleep from the overnight bus here, we set off down ''The Strip''. It's really the hottest place I've ever been but luckily there are plenty of casinos with air conditioning just calling for you to go in and cool down! We went to New York New York Hotel which has a statue of Liberty outside and is made to look like the NY skyline with the major difference being the massive roller-coaster weaving in and out of the buildings ... very cool! In the MGM hotel we got an all you ... read more

It's 6am and we're just waiting to check into our Sin City Hostel in Las Vegas!! We're both as excited as we can possibly be after an overnight coach journey, but I'm sure after a little sleep we will both be raring to go. Yesterday we spent the day in the World Famous San Diego zoo. It really was the best zoo I've ever been to! We spent about 9 hours walking through Asia, Africa and Polar themed areas. I think our highlight was being able to see 2 Pandas which neither of us had ever seen before! They were Father and Son and were both so cute just nom nom nomming away on bamboo sticks. They told us that the oldest panda had fathered 4 cubs since being in the zoo... single-handedly bringing Pandas back ... read more

Today is our only full day in San Diego, which is a shame as we both LOVE it here and there is loads to do! We decided to go to a beach for the day as we saw loads from the train on the way here, and were recommended to go to La Jollla as it has interesting wildlife. The place was absolutely beautiful with cliffs and little beaches nestled in amongst them and we found one which had some rocks a few metres out with a seal on it! To quote 1 girl that we heard: ''the sand is so soft... like angels''. Well I'm not even sure I know what an angel feels like, but the beach was pretty nice. There were about 3 seals playing in the surf really near to the beach ... read more
