Approaching Home

Europe » United Kingdom » England » Kent » Chatham
As you can see I'm no longer in Asia. After the Cal Poly trip ended I traveled around Thailand with my Mandy for almost a month visiting my favorite places and some new ones. My friends Adam and Erin also joined us for a while. After our time was up we flew to Israel and spent two weeks in Israel with my family and new baby sister Nur (which means explosion of light). Now we are are in Kent with Mandy's parents and before heading home to California we're going up to Scotland for a couple of days. Love always, Ma'ayan [View Full Entry]

Pretty Much the coolest thing in Vienetiene.
IT has been another eventful week for me here as the good times continue to fly on by. To start is off my roommate Brad and I went and played soccer with some of the Thai kids who are studying English at the same school as us. While I was just struggling to keep up we somehow managed to win four of the five games we played so I will have to go play again this week. After soccer, we went out to pizza with our teammates and their friends. Thai pizza can get quite strange we found out with toppings [View Full Entry]

Moving On

Asia » Thailand » Northeast » Nong Khai
It’s been a while since I’ve posted mainly because it is a headache to get on the internet here. We just arrived in Nong Khai this evening via Sukkhothai from Chiang Mai. Our last days in Chiang Mai were celebrated in style with late nights out before we moved on and separated from the architecture students. Sukkhothai was our next stop on the journey. Sukkhothai was the first capital of Thailand and now it is in ruins but still very impressive to visit. The picture upload on this site is really slow so if you want to check out my pictures [View Full Entry]

Long Weekend

 Asia » Thailand » North » Pai
These last days have been very eventful so I'll do my best to fill you in on everything. Last Thursday we all went to visit some hill tribes Northeast of Chiang Mai, we visited a Hmong village and then hiked to a Karen village for the Night. On the way to second village we also got to stop by a waterfall and go swimming. Needless to say it was a gorgeous place and we all needed a little dip after being in the tropical heat for two weeks. As we arrived at the Karen village they made coffee for us with [View Full Entry]

Wats and Song Taus

Asia » Thailand » North » Chiang Mai
MY first week in Thailand is almost over and things are going wonderfully, the Jetlag never hit, the group is amazing and the girl who disappeared last night came back unharmed. We have not started our regular classes yet, instead this first week there were extra language classes and we had lectures on Thai Culture, Lanna Architecture, and Buddhism. The language classes do not seem very hard when I am in them but remembering the words in deceivingly difficult because the sounds are so strange. While the classes and lectures take up much of the time we have still been able [View Full Entry]

Hello all, I'm sitting in my aunt Shelli's living room getting ready to head to the airport in a couple hours. For the first three weeks in Thailand we are going to be staying on campus at Chiang Mai University. I'll be sure to post again in the next couple days as I start to take some pictures. Also if anyone is in Oakland make sure to walk in Redwood park, it's just absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for stopping by, Ma'ayan [View Full Entry]
