8-12-07 I got up around 7 and headed downstairs. I guess Gertrude heard me moving and she got up soon afterwards. She fixed me some ham and eggs. No they were not green eggs and ham,Sam. 8-5-07 After a couple great days in Vienna it was time to move into the countryside of Austria. When I first came to Vienna I was a little disappointed by the landscape quite frankly. I expected all of Austria to be mountainous, but Vienna seemed a little flat. I headed to the West Bahnhoff station where I was to catch the train to somewhere in Upper Austria. 8-3-07 We got up and had a quick breakfast and was out the door. Anita was going the same direction as I was so I followed her on the subway. 7-31-07 It indeed was a very interesting night! I had put the ear plugs in and slept pretty good for a couple hours and then around 4, I awoke to the snoring. My ear plugs had fallen out and the extreme tiredness that I felt when I first went to bed was absent. I knew sleeping would be difficult. I got up and decided to walk around the ship for awhile. 7-27-07 I woke around 6 listening to the birds chirping out the portal hole. I fell back asleep with the gentle breeze flowing through the window and to the sound of the rustling waves. About 8 I heard a boat drive by, which seemed a little funny to me and at 9 I arose from my slumber. I went upstairs to take a shower. The showers shut off automatically and only stayed on for a short period of time. After awhile they seemed to get cold. 7-21-07 I actually slept pretty good on the boat once I tried to sleep, but it was time to get up again after only about 4 hours. The announcement came over the intercom that we would be landing soon. There was not much going on in Kristiansand at 6:30 A.M. this morning. I went to the train station and checked the train schedule. I discussed the schedule with another person and that person said that I was not looking at Sunday I was looking at a weekday. 7-18-07 I am sitting in Kristiansand, Norway typing about where I just left in Denmark. Here in Norway I have never in my life seen so many blondes. Every woman is blonde I think in this country. The prices are expensive as well. I just walked into a very nice hotel, actually it is just a Clarion, but at the ferry ticket office described it to be a very nice hotel. 7-17-07 I again slept very well on the train, but still seemed a little wore out. It seems like even though I sleep well on the trains I still do not feel as rested. 7-13-07 I maybe slept 2 hours as I was tossing and turning most of the night. Drinking alcohol and it's effects on sleeping change as you age. I just do not sleep as well after throwing a few back. I got my stuff packed and was out the door quickly. Everything went great all the way to the train station. This was a different train station than I had arrived at. It was ok, but nothing great. 7-12-07 The night went surprisingly well. I was really concerned that with the couple of beers I would have a real tough night, which would result in a rough night for Ludmilla. In the end however I think we both got some sleep. Ludmilla left for work pretty early and I still had not seen her Swedish roomate as she left early. I slept a little longer and then got going.
