The end of the journey came kind of slow - more like creeping, but once it arrived it was totally there. And in the same way as the distance to Asia grew, and the time changed (strange things happening while flying) it felt like being in a time-machine, and landing in Germany didn´t only feel like landing in a different part of the world -but more like in a different time, or a different world, or... I just can´t explain it - but suddenly the whole journey was so FAR AWAY. I guess in the beginning of "being back in Europe" also I was far away (from myself), because everything just felt so surreal - for many days. Of course I also got sick. Just because it is so silly, so stupid - and so typical ... read more

Maybe it was because of the chillier weather of the north, maybe it was because of the holyness of the river Ganges - or maybe it simply was because of being aware that our long trip is soon coming to and end that I suddenly felt like starting all over again - enthusiastic and happy over this great opportunity to visit the other side of the world. So, after all the 8.3 celebrations and the hot desert of Rajastan, we decided to go further up north to escape the worst heat. After a few days in Jaipur (visiting Hannas friend Asha and her family and meeting Toshita from the center of Dalit rights), one day in Delhi (visiting Sunita and the national Campaign for Dalit human rights) we came to Haridwar - a holy city that ... read more

I cant say that I'm a big fan of flags - but still I got really impressed by the Indian flag. Not how you see it everywhere (that feels rather nationalistic), but the way it is built up. It's like the nature of the country: green (like rainforests) in the south, and orange (like desert) in the north. It really makes sence - the only thing I cant understand is the white stripe in the middle. But since it is the first flag I EVER saw that made any sence, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some kind of international counsil forbidding India to have this logical flag and making them add at least one unlogical thing ('"like a stripe in colour that doesnt exist anywhere in your country" I can hear them say) and ... read more
