It took us a few days to come to terms with Beijing. I mean, to travel to a facist country that constantly ignore human rights, how is it even possible to justify that? My only excuse is that we came here (by train) so we could avoid flying to Asia. And maybe we can make smth good with our travel through the interviews we've made and are going to make with chinese people. Vad skönt att kunna ändra reseplanerna enligt behov, eller bara känsla, och inte strikt följa ett schema som vi först trodde att vi skulle vara tvungna att göra (pga att vi måste boka alla större resor i förväg för att få visum). Nu har vi alltså insett att även färdiga planer går att ändra, biljetter kan bokas om eller bokas av... och därför är vi just nu (efter en vecka längre i Beijing än tänkt) i en liten kuststad vid namn Weihai, senare idag på väg mot Syd-Korea...!! :) Få se hur länge vi sen stannar där, kanske en vecka eller [View Full Entry]

The transsiberian traintrip seems to be the dream of many travellers, but even though it never was a dream of mine it turned out to be a real dream-trip. After walking, walking, walking through st:Petersburg and Moscow it was wonderful to just lean back and still be on the way... all the time, while eating, sleeping, reading or playing cards. And through the window we could see the landscapes slowly changing, from forest to lakes to mountain - and even into desert..! Morbultad, trott o sjuk efter var intensiva tre dagars trip i moskva var det en lattnad att antligen fa sova i en sang (ist for pa hart golv), njuta av lyxen att ha en egen kupe o gora absolut ingenting, pa sin hojd lasa eller spela ett parti rummy. Efter 3 dagars slappande satte dock rastlosheten in o jag var frisk nog att borja utforska taget o manniskorna. Alltid fanns det ngn man kunde fordriva tiden tillsammans med, spela kort, prata eller flirta;) Dagen fore vi korsade gransen till mongoliet fick vi dessutom en fantastiskt trevlig kupekamrat, Dima, som var pa [View Full Entry]

Our stay in Russia was short but intense, Saint petersburg was quite relaxed but Moscow was crazy. Three days of (not) sleeping on the floor, endless walks on neverending streets, being sick with a cold and getting a lot of scratches and bruises after all the jumping; in the metro, at the punkconcert, in the forest; and climbing; up on train plattforms, statues etc. At the end I finally felt like the old grandma I really am!
