November 3, 2008 Arrived in San Diego yesterday at 6am. Cool and cloudy and drizzly weather welcomed us. The homeland security and immigration people held up the beginning of disembarkation till 8:30am. We did not disembark until 11:20 or so. Being San Diego residents, we were the last ones allowed off the ship. Got home about 12:15 pm. We did unpack and then decided we needed to take a nap. Pretty lazy the rest of the day. October 30, 2008, 9:30am Learned today that this is the next to last cruise for this ship. It is going into drydock and complete renovation. The ship does need some TLC. Not that it is bad just a lot of wear and tear has become evident, (ie) the elevators seem to have a mind of their own. Today would have been my dad’s 80th Birthday. October 28, 9:30AM CT HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIELLE! We were able to call and wish Danielle a Happy Day. Woke to sunshine, high seas, wind and lots of rocking and rolling, WHOOOOEEEE, a definite E-ride ticket. Ship seems to list to port which is our side of ship, so a lot of walking uphill… Breakfast buffet line, on deck 10, had some water sloshing about. Not quite sure where it comes from???? October 27, 2008 Hi all Today is a sea day. Very sunny today but the seas are rolling a bit, but nothing like the white cap day we had on the way to Cartagena. Today is very relaxing. Went to a shopping seminar (as if I needed help to shop) for Acapulco and Cabo San Lucas. This afternoon is a slot tournament. Later is our cocktail party with the captain. October 24 Today we are transiting the Panama Canal. Early rise morning and out on the veranda to watch the 3 entry locks. Very interesting procedure.. We are currently cruising the Gatun Lake, which we entered after the first 3 sets of locks. The transit takes from 7am till 5 pm to complete. Wednesday was a sea day. We were playing black jack in the evening at a table for 6. They had random drawings for 7 prizes within the casino area. Our table won 3 of the prizes. Hi it is Wednesday, October 22, 2008 We are at sea today in the midst of a thunder and lightning storm. We are rolling a bit. Jan had a rough night and isn’t up and playing. She even missed SHOPPING info for emeralds! Tomorrow we are in Columbia touring and shopping for our Emeralds… Sunday was boarding day and it was a mess. Apparently there was a computer problem and they couldn’t print boarding cards etc. We waited in boarding lines for 2 hours, and we were 2 hours late leaving Ft. Lauderdale. Hello I knew it would be fast. Here we are on the 5th day of our holiday already! Our flight on Tuesday went without a hitch. Our room in Ft. Lauderdale was very nice and had a great breakfast. We are traveling in a Black Ford Explorer, so traveling is very comfortable for us all. Wednesday we headed south. Our first stop was at Coopertown, where we boarded an air boat for a 45 min. tour through the river of grass that is the Everglades. Scooter, our guide, was a good ole down south boy. Dear Friends & Family, This is a new thing I'm trying, instead of postcards. Today we begin our vacation holiday. Walt & Jan Albright are our travel partners. We fly from San Diego to Ft. Lauderdale Florida. We overnight, get up early and drive to the Florida Everglades. We then travel down the Keys for our first stop, half way down the Keys. The next morning we travel all the way down to Key West for 2 nights. Saturday we drive back up to Ft.
