Hi it is Wednesday, October 22, 2008
We are at sea today in the midst of a thunder and lightning storm. We are rolling a bit. Jan had a rough night and isn’t up and playing. She even missed SHOPPING info for emeralds!
Tomorrow we are in Columbia touring and shopping for our Emeralds…
Sunday was boarding day and it was a mess. Apparently there was a computer problem and they couldn’t print boarding cards etc. We waited in boarding lines for 2 hours, and we were 2 hours late leaving Ft. Lauderdale. We were supposed to have champagne and shrimp cocktail for our Bon Voyage. Our shrimp made it, but our champagne didn’t show up till Monday.
Anyway we love the ship and everything has gone very well since the initial problems.
Monday, we are at sea, and Bob is enjoying his gambling. He entered a slot tournament, but came in 5th, only top 4 received prizes.
Of course we’ve played bingo and no wins there either. He did do very well on 3 card poker and hit
A straight flush early on, so he has had money to play…
Tonight was our first formal night.
Tuesday we were in Grand Cayman. We were tendered in. We took a tour of the island, an Atlantis submarine ride to the reefs and 2 ship wreaks, Lunch at Margaritaville, and of course shopping.
We also visited Hell, a town that makes lots of money off folks sending postcards from Hell!
We bought Tortuga rum cakes and not much anything else. Very pricey for the most part…
Started raining about 3pm and we headed for our tender about 4 pm. The ship sailed at 5pm.
Lightning and rain started…
Wednesday morning was gloomy, but the temp was about 84F.
I went to a shopping for emeralds seminar, and Bob went to a Panama Canal Seminar.
Time for BINGO too! We are hoping to win a SKY SUITE upgrade for the rest of this cruise!!!
This afternoon we are going to a wine seminar and get to do tastings of 6 wines.
Pretty relaxing day all in all.
I am drinking today’s special drink, CHI CHI, just for you Jim…
Tomorrow Cartagena, Columbia…………….
