HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIELLE!
We were able to call and wish Danielle a Happy Day.
Woke to sunshine, high seas, wind and lots of rocking and rolling, WHOOOOEEEE, a definite E-ride ticket.
Ship seems to list to port which is our side of ship, so a lot of walking uphill…
Breakfast buffet line, on deck 10, had some water sloshing about. Not quite sure where it comes from????
We are supposed to visit HUATULCO today. But the seas may have something to say about that.
We are supposed to arrive at noon. Today is our beach day and snorkeling. If the seas are rough there, I would guess we won’t be seeing many fish because of the turbulence. Will wait and see…………
6:00 pm
PACK YOUR BAGS and get to Huatulco. Probably what Acapulco was like 50 years ago. Yes we did get in and docked. Lovely fishing village, nine bays and 27+ beaches and all pristine. Snorkled at 2 different beaches and had a perfect day in everyway. The Margarita’s were fantastic, almost as good as Bob’s. They do have a golf course, not too far away. They are building lots of homes and condo’s. Hurry quick and get in on the ground floor.

ACAPULCO
Our first visit here was 1971, and our last visit about 1977. They sure have been busy building in every direction. We did locate our first hotel, which used to be one of the “high rises”. It is now dwarfed on all sides. The beautiful upscale Las Brisas Hotel, which is pink and white, and situated high on a hill, was always visible from the bay. I cannot find it now, even though we drove by on our tour.
We anchored in the bay and were tendered to the dock for our city tour and a visit to the cliff divers for our private show. That was our 3rd time at the show, and it is still very impressive to see them jump 165 ft from the top of a cliff into a narrow spit of 14 ft deep water surging in and out. The weather was sunny and warm with only a bit of humidity. We also visited Puerto Marques Bay. This used to be mostly a jungle area with two very upscale hotels. The area is now in the midst of a huge building boom, as this is the direction Acapulco is growing. There are now 1.5 million people in Acapulco, and the traffic is horrendous. It is still a beautiful bay, but I’d rather go to HUATULCO! We sail at 6pm.
Tomorrow is a sea day…
