Learned today that this is the next to last cruise for this ship. It is going into drydock and complete renovation. The ship does need some TLC. Not that it is bad just a lot of wear and tear has become evident, (ie) the elevators seem to have a mind of their own.
Today would have been my dad’s 80th Birthday. We are all going to honor him by playing craps (his favorite) today!
Fancy breakfast buffet today. Excitement in the room when the eggs benedict chafer caught fire.
Pyro Bob missed the fun as he was already seated.
I had a really good black jack evening last night. Finally had some really good luck and wasn’t the first one to quit, but the last…
Turned the clocks back last night, and now back on PDT and very close to home.
Tonight is our 3rd and final formal evening. They will do the parade of flaming Baked Alaska’s, which is quite a spectacle.
5 pm
Bob and I both went for massages. He had a 50 min. Swedish massage. I had the most Wonderful 75 min Hot Stone massage. I have never had that type before, but I definitely will be looking for one in San Diego. I am not sure if it was the masseuse, Joy, or the hot rocks, but it was divine and the most relaxing massage I’ve ever had. I almost thought I should smoke a cigarette, when it was over…
OMG
Bob won the Black Jack Tournament by one $25 chip. He received a trophy, a High Roller polo shirt and $170.

Arrived in Cabo San Lucas at 7AM. WOW what a change since we were here 20 years ago. Other than the famed Arch, we don’t recognize anything! This place is huge with condo’s everywhere. Found out that 20 years ago (when there was one paved road and the rest were dirt) the population was 5,000. Now it is 95,000 with 10,000 being Americans. Because of tourism, there is virtually no unemployment.
Mistakenly thinking we knew Cabo, we had booked a tour of TODOS SANTOS, which is on the Pacific side of the peninsula, and about 1 ½ north of Cabo. This is still a village and the home of the Hotel California of the Eagles song fame. Very quaint and quiet. Had a nice lunch at the Hotel California, walked around and ended up back at the bar for cerveza’s and Margarita’s. Very hot day, 100F. Late return to Cabo, and did not have time to shop. Didn’t even get Tequila at the duty free!
Sailed at 4pm.

Today is our last full day at sea on our way to San Diego. We are due to arrive tomorrow at 7am.
Our scheduled disembarkation time is 10:20am.
Today we have a requested a tour of the ships galley. That should be very interesting. They serve 9,000 meals per day!
Have to have our bags packed and out by 11pm
