Lima I left you all last time while we were in Lima and Ben was doing his pargliding course. Unfortunately the weather was really bad the next day so he didn´t get to fly but the day after we went into the mountains where the conditions were better. Ben got 4 flights in total and learnt a new manoevre which meant he got his paragliding licence! That means he is now officially a qualified pilot! How cool is that?! He was really chuffed. Arequipa and the Colca Canyon Next stop after the Inca Trail was Arequipa, Peru´s second biggest city and called the "white city" because of all its buildings which are made from white volcanic rock. There are also 3 volcanoes surrounding the city, one of which you can see the top of (covered in snow) from the city centre. I was still suffering from a freezing-nights-on-the-Inca-Trail-induced cold but luckily the weather was boiling hot so we spent lots of time wandering around the city in the sunshine! We did it! We arrived back to Cuzco after finishing the Inca trail at about 10pm last night. I´m still a bit sore and very knackered but quite proud! The walk was 42km in total and about half of that was uphill! Luckily we had a really great group and guide which made the whole thing fun instead of torture! And sleeping in a tent wasn´t great for muscle pain. But the food was brilliant and luckily we had sunshine for the whole 4 days! Hey all, here´s what we´ve been up to since the last update.. I warn you its wuite a long one (again). Sorry! LA PAZ We spent a looooong time in La Paz which is Bolivia´s capital and probable one of my favourite cities I have ever been to. Hmmm so I have been a little rubbish on the update front and have managed to travel through Argentina and Chile without doing an update. OOps. Hey all! We´ve arrived safe and sound in Sao Paulo! Hostel is really nice but unfortunately the weather isn´t and its absolutely tipping it down! Luckily theres plenty to do at the hostel and we managed to wander around Paulista Avenue for a while without drowning. Its warm though! Going to have a look round Sao Paulo centre tomorrow and then catching the 6 hour bus on Thursday morning to Rio for the carnival! Will keep you updated! Em and Ben xxxx p.s.
