Here we go again. Another entry to try to catch up before the Fatman arrives. Some of these were taken on a Mother's Day/Birthday trip to Sydney. Others were taken at Taronga Zoo as well as a few taken around Wollongong during Winter Holidays. The video is a holdover from our visit to South West Rocks on the Easter holiday. Hope you enjoy them. ... read more

How ya goin? We are a little behind on the holidays...Consider it a little Easter warm up for Christmas. These were taken when we travelled north to Byron Bay, NSW, for Easter Holidays. It was rainy and cold most of the time we were there. Thank goodness for the cabin. Did get in a dive at Julian Rocks. Bad luck though, no turtles. Weird. Even though the weather was coming into winter, the lilies still bloomed. All is good here. Looking forward to he holiday with Dan and his family. Enjoy. Well here it is the second instalment of our summer adventures. Hopefully these warm pics will chase the last of your winter weather away. This blogs musical accompanyment comes to us from the Godfather of Grunge. The Prophet of the Prairies. The Hippy from Cypress River. Canadian Classic Rock Icon, Neil Young. Open up another tab and cut and paste this link. Kick back, crack a cold one and enjoy the pics. Neil Young - Heart of Gold: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eh44QPT1mPE And congratulations to Teresa Crann who was our first blogger to recognized the fact that Gabriel and I occasionally dress the same. Not in a creepy, fading Hollywood-star kind of way but in a cool, subtle Sears catalog way. Your platypus is in the mail. Long may you run, DMG... read more

Summer was a busy time with Christmas/New Year's sandwiched in with camping, fishing, beaching, boarding, hoops, tapas, the aquarium, sushi, and a trip to a galaxy far, far away. What a tasty sandwich it was. Cheers, DMG.... read more

MY COUNTRY The love of field and coppice, Of green and shaded lanes. Of ordered woods and gardens Is running in your veins, Strong love of grey-blue distance Brown streams and soft dim skies I know but cannot share it, My love is otherwise. I love a sunburnt country, A land of sweeping plains, Of ragged mountain ranges, Of droughts and flooding rains. I love her far horizons, I love her jewel-sea, Her beauty and her terror - The wide brown land for me! A stark white ring-barked forest All tragic to the moon, The sapphire-misted mountains, The hot gold hush of noon. Green tangle of the brushes, Where lithe lianas coil, And orchids deck the tree-tops And ferns the warm dark soil. Core of my heart, my country! Her pitiless blue sky, When sick at ... read more

Season's Greetings, Here we are in the last week of school before summer holidays!(?)! Hope all is well where you are. Gabe, as you can see by the pictures, has been busy. Michelle has returned from a very successful data gather in South Australia, and I am even picking up some casual teaching days. We are also taking advantage of living in an urban area by attending concerts/sporting events. Check out the videos below by two acts we saw recently, You Am I and the Living End. Arguably, they are Australia’s greatest live acts. Coming up on our concert calendar…The Wiggles and Neil Young. Life is good! Rah, rah, rah. Here are some pics. Cheers, DMG... read more

Hello Friends, Well here we are nearing the holiday season with unseasonable wet, summer weather. It's not very warm for our Green Christmas. Damn you Global Warming! It has been raining all week so I find myself missing both the sun and the snow simultaneously. Anyways, to get into a summery mood, I thought I'd share some of our favourite shots from the summer of 2008. Sorry no shots of the completed (finally) renos at 77 South. Where was the camera? While you’re at it check out this video from a really HOT Aussie band, the Living End. It is called Raise the Alarm and it is on YouTube at: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=oFG-EUzhNpw&NR=1 And stay tuned for Life In The Gong, coming soon to a blog near you. DMG ... read more
