Well, here it is... I finally got a chance to take the video and uploaded it. Unfortunately the video quality isn’t the greatest as well as the video editing. A little background on our production... First, the main character is Donny, not Dorothy. Haha... We had to cast one of the boys as the main character. Some of the girls in my class have some moms who would not be happy if the other's daughter had the lead. Haha... Yes, it's ridiculous, I know. And, the boy who plays the munchkin and the magic monkey was the same kid. Unfortunately the only way you can tell the difference between his costumes is the munchkin didn’t have the monkey head on. Haha… Damn budget restraints. Haha. Anyhow, the story should be familiar, but I did have to ... read more

OK ok ok…. Haha… Christine has been getting on my case about me absenteeism on here, haha. But in my defense it is the end of the school year here and my kindergarten play was last week…. And the kindergarten graduation was this past week. Ugh… Haha. It has been a lot to deal with. Plus, with the weather being cold I haven’t really done many new and interesting things. But I do have some things to cover in this addition. So there has been the Lunar New Year, an Aliens themed noreabang, a trip to the Dr.’s, a trip to the zoo, random bar nights, our musical, and graduation. Just to name a few. First off, on Lunar New Year I got a day off, so that’s cool. Haha. But EVERYTHING was closed on that ... read more

It's Cold Outside!

Well it’s been about twenty days so I figured I get caught up here before I get further behind. Ever since I came back to work from my Christmas vacation I haven’t been too busy sightseeing. It has been, from what my Korean friends tell me, the coldest winter in decades. So I have been kind of staying in or doing things that don’t require me to venture outside. Bitter cold plus snow equals a number of weekends in bars knitting my beer sweater with my buddies, one bottle at a time. Haha. I did, however, manage to do a few things and eat some great food that didn’t involve beer. This past weekend I was invited to antend an art show two of my kindergarteners were in. Of my two students, one was there, Anna. ... read more

Seeing that I had a 9 days off from work it was a good opportunity for me to see a new country. I originally wasn’t planning on traveling anywhere. While talking with my girlfriend, she convinced me that she could find inexpensive flights. So I figured why not. In any event, before I knew it I had a round trip ticket to Fukuoka, Japan. On the day we arrived in Japan it was in the afternoon so we just settled in to our room and then went to Fukuoka Tower. It was really cold and windy new the sea. But the tower was pretty amazing. We went to the top of the tower at night time so the cityscape was quite amazing. That was in for day one. On the second day we just bummed around ... read more

I’m back… I wanted to post yesterday (my short day), but it is no longer my short day. Ugh… It was the start of a new quarter on Monday and class schedules have been switched up. I lost a few classes and then gained a few, which altered my schedule to the point where I no longer have a short day. But I was told it would be considered when next quarter starts, so I am hoping to have a few short days come February. So we shall see... In any event, my new schedule was out of my control so I’m looking on the bright side. I have three 2 hour breaks, one on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. So technically I’m not teaching more, I just don’t get out early on Monday. So it’s not ... read more

Well I skipped a week last week, and I was on such a roll. Last Monday, the day of the week I usually write these things, I was really sick. I had some sort of 24 hour stomach bug. Needless to say I was in no condition to sit in front of my computer. I was in rough shape, that’s for sure. Anyways, I’m back to my good ol’ self and ready to catch up on here… SO here goes. Two weekends ago I had a pretty eventful weekend. I didn’t hang out with my buddies because on Saturday I had to go into work for a work thing. It was a sort of an open house for perspective parents and we had to look nice and smile for a few hours on Saturday morning. So ... read more

Hello again… I’m back for another installment of my blog. This past week and weekend wasn’t as crazy as my last. However, it was filled with a lot of things. This past Tuesday was a coworker’s birthday, so just about all the English teachers went out to eat. We ended up going to this restaurant that serves duck. It was really good! We had about three courses. The first was small pieces of duck. The meat was cooked on a flat iron pan that is tilted to drain the drippings. The second course was larger pieces of duck, and it was smoked. This course was amazing! The meat was so tender and it tasted so good! For the final course the woman who was serving us took a ton of rice and dumped it onto the ... read more

This past weekend was JAMMED packed with all sorts of things. Jammed to the point where I was exhausted, seriously. I had a few things planned but didn’t realize how much one was going to be and I didn’t plan on another. Haha. First thing is Friday… Fortunately Friday was the most relaxed of the days this past weekend. I went to a really good Mexican place (I’m pretty sure I mentioned in a previous post) called Las Margaritas. Their burritos are amazing! So my lady friend and I went there for dinner. That was about the extent of my Friday. Friday needed to be a short night for two reasons… 1. The week kinda drew on me and I was a little tired, 2. I needed to get up at 5:45 AM to hike up ... read more

The weeks seem like they are flying by! Work keeps me busy from Monday to Friday, and my weekends are usually packed with all sorts of fun activities. The days are really starting to cool off, no frost yet but nights have been pretty chilly. But with cool days comes cooler nights, in more ways than one… Friday night was pretty fun. I had dinner and drinks with my lady friend at a western style restaurant called Gecko’s. It’s a nice place on the top floor of a building which overlooks part of the city. After dinner we headed to another bar just to hangout. Saturday was a fun day too. Dave, Jon and I went to a Korean basketball game at 2pm. We didn’t have our hopes set too high about the quality of basketball ... read more
