Hi friends and family Sorry it has been so long since an update but life has been busy with overseas trips, recovering from overseas trips :-), job searching, Olivia's first birthday and now moving (this Wednesday).... so here is a picture diary to update you on our trip to South Africa over December/January - where we caught up with the Lingwoods (my mum and Bryan) and the Fullers (Pat and Bill - Mike's parents - and his sisters Dee and Caroline and their husbands JC and Anthony - and the kids). Olivia's 1st birthday was on 13 February and she celebrated the occasion by learning to walk. We celebrated with cake and sparkling rose. She's now started daycare three days a week and is loving it. I am freelancing 1.5 days a week and job searching ... read more

Hi Family and Friends Still slightly jet lagged after arriving home two days ago, but wanted to share some photos from our UK trip with you. We had a super time. Olivia got to meet her Great Grandmother Mollie (who turned 89 while we were there), her Nana Linda, see her Gransha Hu again, and also meet my extended family of Aunts, Uncles and cousins - what a trip for her! She also saw snow for the first time (quite a treat and the first time it has snowed in England in October since 1934!) and she also met a horse for the frst time (and fell in love). Other milestones on our trip included her first tooth, standing up by herself holding onto a stool, saying 'Baba', then 'Gaga', and then 'Dada'. Couldn't convince her ... read more

Hello all! Friday was Michael's 39th birthday and so we celebrated yesterday with a cocktail party hosted by (the fictitious) Roy Stanley on the wharf beneath our apartment. It was great fun.... Rod, Will and Sarah, Kevin and Rita, Marcus and Michaela, Miles and Danny, Jaques, Bianca and Alicia, and Georgie and Dave came along. Rod dressed as Roy Stanley and made the best cocktails ever! We drank cocktails, munched on yummy snacks and Mike wired the sound system so we had music to enjoy. Olivia went off to my friend's house for the afternoon, but she came home at 5pm so was able to have a quick cuddle with Mummy and play with Alicia before bed. Good day had by all. Enjoy the pics. With lots of thanks to Rod and Will for organising the ... read more

Hi friends and family It's been a month since I posted some photos so I thought I should do something about that. As usual, the pics are mostly of Olivia :-) It's Mike's 39th birthday today and he's having a party tomorrow, so I'll include some social shots from that gathering some time next week. So what have we been up to since my last post in August? Well ... Gymbaroo (baby gym) continued for Olivia, and last Tuesday Mike came along to the last session of the term and took some great photos, so I have included these. We went away for the weekend to Bowral with friends Jaques and Bianca and their little girl Alicia. It was a lovely weekend of wine tasting and walking. My South African born friend Penny (from mothers' group) ... read more

Hello all! It's August and our little girl is 6 months next week - where did the year go? A summary of what we have been up to since I last updated the blog: Can't remember if I mentioned last time, but I have started Mums Bootcamp - a twice weekly exercise group for women .... where they take your babies off you for an hour and work you to death! :-) Good fun. Olivia thinks so too! Olivia went to her first movie last month - Mamma Mia ... she slept through the whole thing though. Mummy was pleased. A few weekends ago we went to Patonga (slightly North of Sydney) to celebrate our friend Will's 36th birthday with his family and friends. Stayed the weekend and had a lovely time. The weather was glorious ... read more

Hi guys Hope you all had a good June. Can't believe it is the middle of the year already and winter (well 18 degrees celsius here - ha ha ha to those of you in the UK!) in Australia. As usual, life has revolved around Olivia, not that we're complaining, so our travel blog for June is naturally full of photos of her. She's now 4.5 months and a happy little girl. Life is starting to return to normal for her parents :-) and we're getting out and about more. Looking forward to seeing friends and family in the UK in November (will let you know my plans closer to the time) and in South Africa in January. PS: Congratulations to my sister in law, Caroline and her husband Anthony on the birth of little Nicholas ... read more

Hi all So sorry I have been slack with updating the travel blog; you must be wondering what has happened to us. We're 14 weeks on now from Olivia's birth and life is very busy, as you can imagine :-) So, here is a photo diary from our lovely two week holiday, with my Dad (who stayed with us for 6 weeks recently but has sadly gone home now), on a 42 foot catamaran on the seas next to Fraser Island, 2hrs flight north of Sydney. We had a lovely time sailing (quite a feat with just Mike and my Dad to raise the sails, steer and navigate) and exploring the coastline of the World Heritage Listed Fraser Island. We also went ashore for a day to 4x4 and see the pristine lakes and rainforests, beautiful! ... read more

So sorry it has been a while since I updated our blog, but life became rather hectic, as you all know, after Olivia's arrival on 13 February. I wont scare you with all the details, but the birth was (apart from painful of course) the most amazing experience ever. Now our little munchkin is already three weeks old and growing fast. Here are some pics of her over the past few weeks. She's been a real pleasure - very calm baby - she sleeps really well. We're very lucky. I've also included a photo of Mike on his boat - taken from our balcony ... as well as a much larger boats (sorry Mike) - the QEII and the Queen Victoria. The QEII was leaving Australia for the last time to retire in Dubai as a ... read more

Hi all I've just remembered that I never uploaded our New Year's Eve party pics to the Travel Blog, sorry. So here is a photo diary of our 31 December 2007. We had a fun time. Living on the harbour we had the perfect view of the festivities on and over the harbour - including plane fly-bys, yachts and fireworks. We invited a few friends over - did some fishing on our wharf and had a few drinks, had a braai (BBQ) for dinner, watched the 9pm family fireworks from our balcony and the midnight fireworks from a rooftop in our street, and enjoyed a chocolate fondue (at 2.30am!). The midnight fireworks were amazing. There were about 5 or 6 platforms set up along the length of the harbour and fireworks went off on these in ... read more

Well, I can't believe the time finally came around for ME to have a baby shower! Lisa arranged for a group of my friends to join me for a typical British high tea at the lovely Queen Victoria Building Tea Room this afternoon (see www.thetearoom.com.au). Sarah, Heather, Michaela, Janine, Bianca, Lisa, Trudy, Hannah and Georgie were there and we had a lovely time gorging ourselves on savoury and sweet treats, champers and a variety of teas ... very lady like - how things have changed! Our baby girl was spoilt rotten with some lovely gifts such as cot sheet sets, toiletries, cute clothing, and toys. Mum-to-be was also spoilt with lovely bath and skin products and a voucher for some nice new lingerie when the bod is back in shape (can't wait). And, at 2pm the ... read more
