And she's off!
In the summer of 2010, I traveled to Tanzania to volunteer with the NGO One Heart Source. An organization founded by UCLA students, One Heart Source (OHS) began its years by opening an orphanage catered to children orphaned or abandoned by the consequences of HIV and AIDS. Additional goals of the time included teaching HIV education to the younger generation of the area, hoping to inspire, instill knowledge, and to reduce social stigma and stereotypes. Since it's founding, OHS has broadened its academic scope, as well as its reached audience, and has expanded to include three sites in Tanzania and South Africa.
