Day 1 - We arrived and checked out the swimming pool at 7:30 in the morning! Discovered the Jacuzzi! Breakfast at 10 at Delifrance and went for a walk. After an afternoon kip we went for tea at raffles American Bar. Mum asked the waiter for a dessert menu and the waiter spent ages looking for a toothpick! Had a long walk around Raffles and saw the chefs cooking in the open air. Day 2 - Went on the city bus tour and saw a Chinese Temple with dragons and golden phoenix's. Then we went to the Jewel Box place at the top of Mount Feber. Then to the Botannical Gardens where we looked at a load of orchids....We all got a fright when a big black bee flew out of some shrubbery! In the afternoon ... read more

We’re currently in Singapore Airport (Changi) - we arrived this afternoon at 3:45pm and fly out tomorrow morning at 6:20am, headed for Beijing via Guangzhou. Given the short time between flights, we’ve decided to hang out at the airport for the night… it’s cheaper than paying for accommodation and transfers, and at least we know we’ll definitely get to our flight on time! Unfortunately, Tiger Airways flies out of the “Budget Terminal,” which is decidedly lacklustre… so we’ve made our way to the main airport as we figured it would have more facilities. That it does… but you’ve got to go into the passengers-only section to access them, which leaves us “budget travellers” hanging out in the food court counting the hours... Fredag den 13. juli 2007: Videre til Bangkok, hvor Janus lige skulle prøve at smugle væske om bord på et fly. Efter at have svaret nej til tolderen paa spoergsmaalet om, hvorvidt vi havde vaeske med om bord, kom Janus lige i tanke om, at han havde en liter Bacardi med, som var købt i CPH lufthavn. Tilbage og bekende til tolderen. Snart ankom vi til Singapore lufthavn, som levede helt op til sit ry. Lækkert, rent, effektivt og yderst stilfuld. Derefter gik turen til den længe ventede - og ganske frygtede - immigrationskø, som dog blev overstået med et lille smil og forevisningen af optagelsesbrevet (det føromtalte tilfældigt medbragte) fra universitetet. Nikki & Louise At Changi airport waiting for our flight to Bali after a quick 24 hour stop in Singapore. Started off our trip in style by heading straight for Raffles bar for a Singapore Sling, only had one as our travelling budget didn't quite stretch to any more. Noted the icecream parlour on our way out which we went back to today. Today just spent the day wandering around Singapore, went to China town, had lunch along the river and finished off with a swim in our hotel pool, which was amazing as we were both struggling with the heat - people weren't lying about the humidity over here!However, now leaving Singapore and it is pouring with rain, so think we timed that pretty well.Right must go, as flight leaves soon and meeting Gems when ... read more

Homeward Bound!UntitledOur trip The sun rises above the island Bali - the early morning mists give way to a tropical paradise filled with flowers and green. The ocean brings a bounty of food and fun.
