Just a few kms from Alaminos is Lucap, the departure point for the Hundred Isands National Park. We arrived in Lucap early and hired a banca to take us into the Park, visit the 3 main Islands and be dropped for a few hours at the last. The weather was amazing all day, bright sunshine and no waves at all!! We first visited Govenors Island, then Childrens Island and finally we dropped at Quezon Island. Luckily Quezon Island turned out to be the best as we had 4 hours to spend there. Lots of walkways to explore, great white sand beaches and very picturesque. The Island wasnt too busy and we managed to find our own private little cove for swimming on the far side of the Island. Not as stunning as the Islands off El ... read more

Thanks God it's Friday! My bag is jam-packed with clothes and ready, but I'm the one not ready.I am confused if I'd go to Oriental Mindoro or to Pangasinan where my boyfriend wants to go.His high school friend Lesley, who's now a Pharmacist in Saudi Arabia is here for a vacation and invited him and other three of Lesley's close friends for an annual summer bonding activity of their barkada. It's also the best time since Sunday is "Pista ng Dagat" Feast of the Sea in Labrador. At around 7 PM Coco came to fetch me and he was apologetic for coming late because his bird died probably because of too much heat this summer and it's also El Nino. He had to buy another pair of love birds which I also have because he bought ... read more

We left Paranaque at 5 am trying to avoid traffic along EDSA which by the way worked really well. We had our filifino breakfast in Pampanga, this consists meat, fish, eggs , garlic fried rice and coffee. We took a side trip to Subic, we decided that our limbs needs some stretching and this is one fun place to do it. Our first stop, Zambales. I remember spending my summer vacation in a small town of Iba. I have quite good memories in this place and some crazy fun as well.... read more

We have returned! After the wedding and the holidays, Mila Atienza, my mother-in-law now, decided to bring all of us to Alaminos, Pangasinan, their hometown. This would be a chance for the balikbayans (Filipinos coming back to the Philippines) Ditas Gavino and Nikki Sacasas to go back to the Hundred Islands. Fortunately, Ditas' family owns the ocean-themed house we used to stay in. It was a 6-hour car drive to Alaminos, passing through North Luzon Expressway. It used to be an 8-9 hour ride but due to the government's improvements and widening of NLEX, the drive was much shorter. We first visited the local cemetery to visit Val's deceased grandmother, Lola Nora. Then, we were off to the islands. We rode a boat in Lucap - the tip of Alaminos. We then headed to Quezon Island. ... read more
