Hi all,

My boyfriend will have an internship in Manila in July. We are looking for the cheapest way to get there from Berlin, Germany where we live. Any ideas?

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply! I will check out the tips for the ticket.

As for the visa...I am also planning on going to Australia during the same time (on a work visa). When I re-enter the Philippines, will my tourist visa be renewed then? Reply to this

I think you can enter the Philippine with your German passport and get the 21 days. Leave and reenter again for another 21 days. I have flown into the P.I. on the regular free 21 days and then flew out to a different country and on arrival back in Manila again received another free 21 days.

I have had to prove that I had an onward ticket out of the Philippines more often in that country than any other country in that part of the world! Flying to Manila you may have to show that you have a ticket out of that country before your free 21 days is up or visit the nearest Thai embassy in your country for more visa help.

In Manila I always stay in the Ermita area. This is only about 20-25 minutes from the airport. In that area you have the big Robinson Mall, restaurants, nightlife and hotels in various price ranges. Where you stay may depend on where the internship program is located. Meter taxis are cheap if you only use the meter and do not bargain the fare. If you are there long enough you can figure out the jeepneys and use them for cheap rides. On jeepneys and other packed transportation like the MRT keep your wallet in a pocket that is secure by velchro or zipped shut.

Good luck. Reply to this
