Thanks God it's Friday! My bag is jam-packed with clothes and ready, but I'm the one not ready.I am confused if I'd go to Oriental Mindoro or to Pangasinan where my boyfriend wants to go.His high school friend Lesley, who's now a Pharmacist in Saudi Arabia is here for a vacation and invited him and other three of Lesley's close friends for an annual summer bonding activity of their barkada. It's also the best time since Sunday is
"Pista ng Dagat" Feast of the Sea in Labrador.
At around 7 PM Coco came to fetch me and he was apologetic for coming late because his bird died probably because of too much heat this summer and it's also El Nino. He had to buy another pair of love birds which I also have because he bought me last week. He's so into birds these days. Well, we left Makati together with Lesley's whole clan I think ^^ at around 12 midnight and headed off to Pangasinan. It was a long travel, we were seated for five hours in Coco's car, it was a convoy of 2 cars, a van and a jeepney. This isn't really new to me because it's
my second time to be here in Pangasinan. The first time I went here was 5 years ago when we delivered jars in a hotel in Anda which seems like my hometown in Oriental Mindoro.
It's Saturday morning and we arrived at around 8:30 am. I'm glad we made it because Coco never had sleep since yesterday. I was praying hard he could still focus on driving... and then finally we arrived safely. Across the street is the seaside and I feel this place is double the hotness in Manila. No wonder the plants on the way here were orange and brown in color for getting dried up.
Ohh I love the smell of the sea...I grew up in a place beside the sea too and I missed this.
In the afternoon we all went to Limahong Island which is 30 minutes away from Labrador's shore. We passed through other islands as well and saw some fish farms. They said that this is also part of the hundred Islands. Limahong is white sand beach but the water is not so warm as compared to the beaches in Mindoro.
We took few group shots and Lesley's cousin
Impong , is the one taking pictures. Everytime he counts 1,2,3 then the word "smile", he says it in a funny way like it was so nasal. In our photos we all have big smiles.
The next day we went to Hundred Island, which I've been waitng for. I am so excited to see this place and I even imagined myself hopping from one island to another like super Mario.
And here's the moment we've all been waiting for, putting on our vest and renting the goggles for a coral dive. Riding the wooden boats which is a bit bigger than the one we used in going to Limahong Island, we sailed on. First stop was the
Governors Island, there's stairs going up which Coco and I hurriedly climbed because we can only stay for 15 minutes. I saw some birds which looks like a chicken. Then we made it on top. Took some photos from their camera because mine had run out of battery. From there I saw the other islands that are greenish with white sand surrounding it. Next stop is the
Quezon Island where you'll find some hotels. Some stay for overnight and for us,
we stayed just for a couple of minutes. We were pissed off for a reason that the the
bangkero ( which Jao also calls "Bakero" hehe) said that we won't be going to the coral site anymore and asked for an extra hundred before they can take us there. Why did they even make us rent those goggles which costs P100 for each person, if they won't do what they've told us before heading to the hundred Islands? These people are oppurtunistic even with their own race, how much more for those who are foreigners?
