Yesterday was Monday, 29 Jan, and we dicided to take another trip to Bagiou. Wonderful place. It was quite cool this time. I wore a plain white tshirt, but needed something else to take the chill off. Enjoyed lunch at a small restuarant in Bagiou, toro toro style. Toro toro means "point and point", or what I would call "a la carte". Delicious veggies, bulalo (or beef soup). I even tried liver adobo (chicken organs). Not my style. lol I am out of online time for more descriptions at the moment. Am on my way back to Manila by bus with Tito Joe. Planning on staying in Makati tonight, and hope to see Alvin and Oliver tomorrow before catching a flight to Cebu City, where Jojoff and his family await my arrival. Unfortunately, there are some ... read more

25 January 2007 It's 12 noon as I write this in my notes. It's already hot! I am loving every single experience here, even the heat. Ronnie (our guide) and I drove from Sea and Sky Hotel in San Fernando this morning, up to San Juan to pick up Tito Joe (Mr Austria). On to the south to Agoo to get Romeo. We drove out of La Union Province and into Pangasinan. We stopped at the home of Tito Joe's sister, Tita Angeles and her husband, Tito Tudding, near Pozorrubio, Pangasinan Province. Also met their grown sons, Cesar and Roland, and some other relatives. I ate my first homecooked Filippino meal here, Philippine style. I talked with Cesar at the fire while cooking the Bangus fish, bought fresh from market this morning. Roland, Romeo, and I ... read more

24 January It's the famous resort city of Baguio, high up in the mountains of central Luzon. I felt at home here in some ways, since I grew up in the hills of east Kentucky, and traveled often to the mountains of southwestern West Virginia, where my Mom's family is from. The weather was not as cool as I was anticipating. Not extremely hot though. Ronnie and I took a horseback tour of some of the city outskirts, guided by a 17 year old boy named Carmon. We saw the homes of Philippine Vice President Noli de Castro, and one of most affluent Filippino businessmen, Lucia Tan. He is the owner of Philippine Airlines. There is a huge 4 story mall in Baguio. We took our lunch there at the food court, and walked around to ... read more

The Philippines, being a tropical country, has a warm weather reaching up to 35 degrees centigrade during summer. Still, there is one place which is relatively cooler by 9 degrees from the lowlands - Baguio City. With this, this highland lives up to its title as the Summer Capital of the Philippines. Approximately 250km north of Manila, just a 4-hr drive away, one can experience the cool climate, taste the sweet strawberries, and be captivated with the marvelous sceneries in the highlands. Various transport companies serve the Manila-Baguio route, so its accessibility is also one of the many pluses why tourists flock to Baguio. Local transportation are also available - one can hire a taxi to go around the city. Places to Visit: Camp John Hay - Former recreation area of the US Military. This camp ... read more

everytime we wanted to take respite from work, we could not think of any place but baguio.. maybe you know the reason why. but this time, we were in the city to attend a conference for 5 days. this particular visit was actually my 6th time to be in the city of pines. for 5 days, we were bound to be present at every session of the conference but then after the main agenda, the group could'nt resist the attraction that is synonymous to baguio so we have no choice but to go around the city. on our last night in the city, we also tried the night life as we hopped from one bar to another. the group initially planned to tour sagada and ifugao but i have to begged off considering that we ... read more

Baguio City is at the northern part of the Philippines. It has a cool weather averaging 20degrees C. In most cases, Filipinos spend summer there to scape from the hot-weather summer in Metro Manila and to attend Holy Week specials sponsored by the religious sect. Our Staff Development Training was held at the Ambasador's hotel in Baguio City. It has a nice hotel rooms and the hotel-staff are courteous and respectful. The hotel is already complete with swimpool, meeting and party areas. While in the City, we visited places like the strawberry farm, Philippine Military Academy, SM City, Pink Sisters Convent, Parks and etc.. ... read more

Left the country 31 May 2002 with daughter DJ.....for a new life's chapter in San Jose, California Baguio City, Philippines has been my home for over 15 years....city of peace loving people and energy boosting climate...I say that because when I reach Baguio after travelling to another region or province, drained of energy, it feels like I just woke up from a very restful sleep... Too bad though that Baguio has lost many pine trees along with their scent not to mention their natural airconditioning purpose.... FOR TOURIST: best place to eat although there's plenty, is Barrio Fiesta along upper Session Road...my husband then fiancee can't forget his meals there...And best way to explore the city: walk!!!! It is a very small city and tourist attractions are so close to each other. With all the good ... read more
