Rainbow Mountain of Vinicunca and the Rainbow Mountain of Palcoyo

During your trip to Peru you cannot miss a visit to the Rainbow Mountains. Every day thousands of visitors come to the foot of the Vinicunca Mountain, which has now become one of the main attractions of the country. Tourists of all nationalities challenge high altitudes and harsh temperatures to be able to admire its splendid colors that have made it famous all over the world. What still not everyone knows is that there are other Rainbow Mountains that form the Palcoyo mountain range. But how do you choose which one is right for you?

The first thing to know is that in Palcoyo you will find a much lower number of visitors than in the Vinicunca Mountain. The second difference concerns the difficulty and duration of the walk. In the case of Palcoyo you reach the top in an hour at the most while in the case of Vinicunca there are about two hours of ascent. However, it all depends on the physical condition of each hiker. Furthermore, the technical difficulties foreseen for Vinicunca are clearly higher and therefore more suitable for trekkers. In both cases you will admire unique and breathtaking scenery, with the difference that in Palcoyo you can admire a set of hills with infinite shades rather than a single mountain.
