So we had out first day of classes today and I think it went really well. I actually had a blast with my class. I taught English (Non native to a class of 10), Science (to my homeroom of 23) and Writing (to Non Native again). While no class went off without a hitch I have learned some very important things about being in a classroom.

1. kids are great- most really to please their teachers
2. even when you stumble just keep pluggin away at what you are doing cause the kids probably wont even notice
3. learn from every mistake. even the little ones like not being able to find the whiteboard eraser.
4. have fun with the kids

I do have some students who may struggle and my little non native class will be an uphill battle. Most are great kids but yet as the title says they are non native speakers so everything is just a little harder and has to be simplified.
Today 2 of them just started at me blindly when I asked them to tell me about their first day of school. They seem to be such dears though. I am really looking forward to getting to know all of my kids. Second grade seems to be a great age. They are still sooo cute yet they can do more for themselves than the little ones.

So it has been a great first day. I got over my fears and the day far exceeded my expectation! Cant wait for another day with my kids

Hi V.C. How wonderful to see what I have only read about put into pictures, knowing that you are fulfilling what the Lord has called you to do. I know your children love you!
