My reason for why I will revisit Finland again and again

5 reasons to visit Finland in summer

1: Cost: The first and most important reason for me was the cost of the flight from the UK. The flights were cheaper than expected and shorter than I realised. You just have enough time to get a cup of the air line special brew and fumble with the impossible milk containers and spill it over your new pants open your cheese and pickle sandwich and you’re already on the decent for landing in Helsinki. (Score 9/10)

2: Standard: I have visited many cities in my travels and Helsinki is possibly one of the cleanest I have seen. The architecture is magnificent with Russian and Swedish influences weaving their way in most of the buildings. Also on separate note, I only saw 2 McDonalds the whole week I was there. This could be a bad and a good point, but for me it was a good point because it was a sign of the quality of the food standard that was to come. There was plenty of eating out establishments and the standard was very high. I also had one of the best steaks I have ever eaten and to top it off it was in a Sea Food restaurant. (Score 9/10)

3: Weather: The weather was mind blowing average of 23 degrees Celsius and to top it all off the sun stayed out for 24 hours. Watching a sun set for 3 hours with a quality bottle of champagne will rank up there with the Aurora Borealis. For an armature photographer this is also an opportunity of a life time to take the perfect sun set photos and to be able to take your time is a bonus. (Score 9/10)

4: Activities: As a summer destination Helsinki is on my top 5 list for There is plenty to do from mountain biking, hiking, sailing, fishing and for the more adventurous I suggest hiring a jet ski for a couple of days, Finland is known as The Land of the Thousand Lakes (actually there are 187888 lakes in Finland, of which 60000 are large) there is no shortage of places to go on water, so in one sense the majority of all the cabins a lake side properties. (Score 9/10)

5: Food: Ok now I am a fussy eater. Don’t like egg white, don’t eat my vegetables and fish is not on my list of favourite foods but the quality and variety of fish is amazing. I will guarantee you will find one fish that will suit your taste. The meat was spectacular with a massive variety of cold meats in most of the restaurants and hotels. One thing I must mention is always ask what the cold meats are as they do tent to like their wild game like reindeer and other exotic meats. At one great restaurant I had a very tasty salami only to find out afterwards that it was horse. So I do advise to ask the waiter what the meats are. (Score 9/10)

In a summery I would say that Finland is a spectacular idea for the whole Family or as a couple. Food is excellent, weather is excellent and there is plenty to do.
Finland gets a score of 9/10.

Decem . ok yeah i understand that there are McDonalds but they aren’t as invasive as they are in other holiday destinations. I just got the feel that there were far less of them.

and as for Vinovat, 100 % correct the people were some of the friendliest people that i have had the pleasure of meeting. i don’t i think i met one person that was rude.
