Tent Reservations?? Can you buy tickets at the door?

Hello ,
A friend and I are heading to Oktoberfest for the first 2 days Sept 22 and 23rd! Whooo hooo....so now I've been reading about the beer tents and you need reservations but can't reserve unless you are a group of 10?!
I need clarification, anybody who has been...is it possbile to just get in line and buy tickets at the door?

If my memory serves me right, you don't need tickets or reservations, just walk in. You pay as you go for the food and beer you consume.
