A photo was added today by deleted_730 - from down in Argentina, lots of little ball shaped boulders in some kind of desert. There have been so many I thought I'd collect a few all in one place.

The Giants Causeway, in N. Ireland comes to mind. If I had a photo of it, I would post it here. Maybe somebody else took one, when they were there? Reply to this

I'll plug one of my own then; weird holes in dry mud, near Dili, East Timor. Although not evident in the photo, the whole plain was littered with circular holes of varying depths. Reply to this

And this one is not geological but rather biological (formed by mats of blue-green algae known as stromatolites...but it does look rock-ish)
