Hello all,
So I will be travelling to Hong Kong in two weeks and staying for five nights (including one day trip in Macau) from August 14 to August 19. I saw a few people asked before if it was safe to travel to Hong Kong but I wanted to see if anyone here could offer more updated information. I follow the news from there pretty closely and have been getting a bit apprehensive so I would appreciate any input. I really do not want to cancel anything if I don't have to. Thank you.

As to the recent unrest just keep up-to-date with the news about any planned protests and make sure you are no where near them. Last thing you want is to be caught up in it and ending up in a Hong Kong jail.
If you are worried head out into the villages on the islands on any protest days. Beautiful beaches and wonderful seafood to be had. Have a great time
