Have you done both and do you have a preference?

What do you like about land based scuba trips? What do you like about live aboard dive trips?

I've only been on one live aboard, so don't think that's quite enough experience to say I prefer one or the other, but there were a few big differences.

(1) I had really bad sea-sickness (on top of being sick) when I experienced my first live aboard. Despite that, it's still one of my top experiences.
(2) No wi-fi on the live aboard. I liked this and really loved the feeling of being distanced from the connected world and would love to do it again.

That being said, I loooove diving from land-based destinations, too, as long as the diving is good! 😉 Reply to this

I had both experience in Maldives. Liveaboard is for exciting, fun and everyday you diving, diving and diving (up to 4 dives per day). The boat was luxury 5* with a great service and food. Definitely recommend! Reply to this
