We are thinking it will take two or three weeks to make the circle, not feel rushed, enjoy the birds, the people and country side.

Dave and Merry, Sofia and I might run into you as it is a relatively small island. We arrive Aug 2 and leave Aug 18 though we are staying for 4 nights in Iluisat, Greenland for 4 nights. Reading up over the next month or so before booking accomadation. Lets keep in touch and maybe meet up. Reply to this

Hey-- that would be great to catch up with you. I think we may get to Reykjavik about the same time you do if you are going to Greenland first. (although we are considering Greenland also.) We'd like to hear more about your plans. We will send you a private message.

Dive Silfra...

See the falls...

Greenland was amazing, and guys you will love Illulisat...be prepared, nothing is cheap there....but we had a first...a wild bison (not sure it's actually bison, but related) burger...the ride in the iceberg was pretty amazing too!

For Iceland, rent a car, was actually cheap and easy.

Ok, went to one in April, and the other in October, so not really the same time of the year, but it was few months ago and both were amazing! Reply to this

Iceland has a free market economy with relatively low taxes compared to other OECD countries, while maintaining a Nordic welfare system providing universal health care and tertiary education for its citizens. In recent years, Iceland has been one of the wealthiest and most developed nations in the world.

What are your recommendations?
I recommend renting a car. When we visited Iceland, <snip> services offered us pretty neat accommodations as well as tour packages. You might wanna check them out. I think they offer several tour packages and car rentals too! Life's so much easier when you have travel services you can rely on taking care of your trip.

What were your impressions of Iceland?
It's fantastic! You'll see what I mean when you get there! :D

Here's a couple of helpful links:

You will love the Mt. Rainier Park area. That should keep you busy for at least two weeks. Good for you. Will you have time to explore the Seattle area while you are there?
We lived in Seattle for 7 years and loved it.

unless we have to come off the trail early, which is entirely possible, we probably won't make it to Seattle. i've started a new blog at www.atlashaditeasy.com for backpacking/adventuring with kids type stuff - we'll keep posting here for international adventures but i figured that needed a different forum. i'd love to hear what you think of it if you get bored and want to check it out! i think we've all come to value your opinions and input here on travelblog. have a great day dave and merry jo!
