Post here which blogs you are particularly enjoying this month and what is good about them.
I quite enjoyed reading
null blog 560465 I've just put it in my wish list
Reply to this I'm not the only one who is saying...sorry...didn't read the full blog....but still...wow....what a blog, welll done Ed. One day will readthe full content, but hey, you rock Ed, this is an amazing entry. Thanks Deni to point it!
Reply to this Thanks for the kind words guys. The response I've had to that blog has been very touching!
Reply to this I read 'Those that roam the Arctic wastes', a couple days ago and would like to take this opportunity to return a compliment; ''It's not often that a blog is so original, interesting and well-written that it sticks in my mind for a long time after I've read it..."
“If the past is a foreign country, nostalgia has made it a foreign country with the healthiest visitor trade of all” (Lowenthal, 1990:4). For obvious reasons, in the case of 'The Arctic Wastes' I don’t think there will be a lot of visitor trade on the ground; however, I’m certain there will be a lot of visitor trade living vicariously through your adventures.
On a separate note, I read this quote the other day, “tourists are consumers, not anthropologists ” Whether we believe him or not, I think either as a tourist you would be the exception, or else you are shedding the traits of tourist.
Reply to this Johnny Yagers photos have become really nice, since he became a featured blogger. This is something that sometimes happens when bloggers hit the Front Page. It sometimes makes me wonder if the blogger got a new camera, but I think it is more that they make a special effort because they will now have more viewers.
Here is one of his Featured Blogs, with great photos of Paris.
Direction La Capitale!
Reply to this I just posted this on the blogger of the week page but now see it would be better featured here.
This blogger has a wonderfully unique and creative writing style. I hope she will start adding photos as she could easily end up on the front page. http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/China/Shanghai/Xuhui/blog-551495.html
Reply to this On my hunt I found a real treasure. This gentleman is not only an excellent artist and photographer but his prose is raw, open and rather poetic.
I love the blog. I'm ready to book a trip to listen to the quiet and see the beauty.
