In my opinion, foremost the the location matters. After that it is the first paragraph and of course the number of subscribers. I find that in some places in Asia I got about 400 hits whilst my blog was on the front page, whereas now in New Zealand I get about 200. Maybe my writing has deteriorated, sure, but my guess is that NZ is just not that interesting/ exotic to some people... Reply to this

I found my blogs go a lot more hits for Asia than NZ and Aus. I think where you are can help a lot more with how many views you get. Also sometimes it can be hard to stay for long on the front page. You can be unlucky and publish a blog only to find 5 or 6 follow within a few hours. Also, some people blog every day which drives those who dont blog as much off the front quickly. Reply to this
