Thanks for the comments about heaven and hell. I believe that probably the number one thing to get more views is to have a large group of subscribers that will want to see your updates. Some catchy title or picture as helps alot as for example a a filthy toilet 😊 ... But its not always the case as my chased by a cyclone blog still only has 156 or so views and i think it has something to do with it being in Australia. In fact mostly all of my Australia blogs lie at the bottom of the view tally. So i think more than anything as Hanoi girl was mentioning the location of the blog will decide in the end how many hits you will get...
On the other note of mentioning your home town, sometimes this maybe good for attractions around but may not be so good for tips on finding cheap hotels as they probably dont stay in any.. What is needed is an forum style hotel / location / restaurant reviewer similar to a hostelworld comments list with ratings where people can mention great deals and dishes in a city near you.. Being constantly updated would mean that their wouldnt be outdated information like i find so often in guide books. You could find the most popular / cheap hotels and restaurants at the click of a button. Its the way forward in travel information powered by the people who visit the places and then you can leave the paperweight guides behind. I wanted to construct something like it myself but the serious input from travellers needed to get it up and running it could only be done with an already huge base of members. I feel that travelblog has been a great site for many years but without some serious overhaul soon it will lose members to other sites that can offer more for the 21st century traveller.

We're back now and are trying to find the time to go through the 20,000 something photos we took to pick out our favourites for a kind of 'best of' blog... settling back into normal life is a bit more hectic than we'd thought it would be though ;o)
