Blogs which get over 200 hits, while on the Front Page.
was written very quickly in a post-xmas haze with all the action and gossip going round the island.
The first line is important with any internet writing and also the thing i do is to keep it short - no-one reads over 2 pages ona screen. Photos are really important too - i use my phone quite a lot so they aren't professional quality but are quick and oddly different to normal snaps.
Thanks for reading, i've been lost in the jungle for a few days so back now!

Amazing that some of the most popular blogs are written so casually. :)
Murder on the Phi Phi express was on the list of most read blogs, when last I looked at the stats. Congratulations! :) Reply to this

We have noticed that our blogs with sunny beach photos seem to attract the most hits, we think that reading those blogs & looking at the photos give people at home & work a quick getaway from their daily life.. that's what we'll be doing when we're back in the cold UK next month anyway! Indeed! Every time I see your photos, I get excited about my trip to SE Asia next August. :) Sometimes, you photos make me turn up the heating a few notches. ;)

Do you mind going back? You look like you belong in those tropical paradises, but maybe after you so much time, you have had enough of the backpackers lifestyle?
It will be so strange for us going back to 'normal' life but we're already planning our next trip for this time next year so at least we know it won't be forever!

A year will whizz by. I sometimes plan my trips a year in advance, and then wonder how the year went so quickly. :)

I have read some of your posts and think that if you make them into blogs, they would be very interesting. For example, what you've done in the last decade, how your daughter felt when she traveled far away from home, what made you feel difficult to travel with a child etc.
I also would like to know whose blog has the most views in TB. I know Ali has one with 19,000 views. I am also curious there seem more English on this website. When I was a member in Thorn Tree forum, there are many Americans. Just my guess.
*** I found that in another link. 151,070 views of a blog published in May 2005. That's interesting.
Thanks Mell for calling my name. Ali has linked my blog to the Tips and Hints of the Vietnam page so now I can help other travelers with any question about Vietnam.
Ah cool! A couple of us were just talking about how good the information in that blog is and if it should be put someplace as a permanent source of information for others. Looks like Ali has already sorted it for us. :)
I feel the number of views on the front page has reduced these days and I rarely see a 500 view blog.
Nothing to do with your blogs though. They are as good as ever. The competition is getting fiercer. Anyone getting over 200 viewings while on the Front Page these days is doing very well.

I love to talk about travel, but I am not so sure I am a dilligent blogger. I tend to only produce a couple of them per year. I did consider making blogs from some forum discussion I was involved in, but didnt get around to making any yet. :)

I think there might be some stats available on that. I will try to dig them up and post them here.

I think there are some stats about that, on the internet available to everybody. They are just estimates though. Ali would know the real numbers.

Would you post a link to that blog here. Maybe the blogger will come and chat with us about it. I remember a blogger mentioning that her blog got an extraordinary number of hits one month, but I cant remember which one it was.

I also hope that Travel Blog will not only be a place where we write diary and keep photos, but we can share the travel tips. With my blog as a guide for trip planners, I hope many bloggers will also write about their cities, what to see, how to get from here to there etc. It can help people save much time from finding information.

We are currently doing something to encourage it. If we put a thread at the top of each forum, to list the information giving blogs, it might encourage more people to make such blogs, because the blogs on those lists will likely get more hits, just because they are listed as useful for information. Yours will be the first in the collection. :) Reply to this
I also want to say that one doesn't really need to go too far. Even at home you still can write about many great things and show them to the world. Reply to this

It would certainly be great, if there are bloggers from around the world making blogs about their country or their home town. Maybe if I make a thread asking who has blogged about their own country or town it will give more people the idea. I will make it now. :) Reply to this
