Help! Should I bring a tent?

Are there alot of places to camp in New Zealand?

I'm planning on staying in New Zealand for a month and seeing as much as I can. I'm wondering if anyone can give me an idea of how many good campgrounds there are in New Zealand, or any other advice regarding bringing a tent or not for this country!

I was there a long time ago and hired a campervan - there were no shortage of good camping grounds - lush, green, well shaded, good amenities - and some of them have some stunning views. Plus many are located within the area of some of the major natural attractions. I wouldn't think that things have changed much since then - perhaps someone who has been there recently can provide an update on the current situation. Reply to this

I haven't camped here for years, but this is the Automobile Association link to camping grounds.
