Happy St Patricks' Day 2009. 17th March.

Where are you and is there an Irish pub nearby? If so, will you go there on St. Patrick's Day? Does it look like the pubs in Ireland?

There is an Irish pub in the centre of Munich, Germany where I live. I have not been there myself, because I get trips to Ireland now and again, so dont feel a need to frequent Irish bars for some Irish company here.

My boyfriend and his friend used to be regulars at this Irish bar in Munich. According to them, it is authentic.

Well, I will join my Irish friends to their regular pub crawl in Belfast! Aside from Guinness, I might try some of the mixed drinks. I will try to post some photos taken during our pub hopping! Enjoy... Reply to this

I haven't seen an Irish pub here in Haiphong, Vietnam. But they are selling cans of Guiness in the local supermarket. Reply to this

Outside, White House aides said the Obamas would bring a bit of tradition from their hometown of Chicago: The water in the fountains has been dyed green, similar to how officials treat the Chicago River on St. Patrick's Day. Aides said this is the first time the fountains on the White House grounds would bubble green water for the holiday.

Quote from Obama to meet Irish leaders, emphasize peace

Now, this is overdoing the celebrations in my opinion. :D Going green cant be good for the environment, can it?

I decided not to go with friends. Not feeling well and it is cold outside. Anyway, my friends started their crawling now! Reply to this

Looks like you need a hot whiskey with cloves and lemon. That is a good Irish remedy for anything bad feeling. :)

Ok - this might sound strange - but St. Patrick's Day was celebrated in India in a city called Pune at a lounge called High Spirits.

The party was so popular that they plan on celebrating it each year.

Give me the true feeling of cultural diversity :-) Reply to this
