From Ciampino it's easier and faster for you to go by bus to metro A Anagnina(Subway).I found out from the Ciampino airport web site (http://www.adr.it -has english version too)that there are different buses to get to Anagnina metro station it will cost you about 6 Euros with the laggages.
When you are at the metro station you can buy the ticket from the automatic distributors that are inside (you'll need 1 euro in coins) or you can buy it before at any newspaper shop in booklets of 10's.
From anagnina metro station you'll go direction Battistini. (you can't go wrong-there is just one direction)
21 stops from Anagnina station you'll get off on Ottaviano San-Pietro station. You can check the map out athttp://www.villadilivia.it/pdf/metropolitana-roma.pdf
the orange line it's line A that's the one. this is your cheapest way to get there probably it's the fastes too depends on the time of the day. Make sure you keep all you belongins and you lagagges locked to your hands no open purses etc. In italy there are a lot of shoplifters expecially when they realize you are a tourist. Watch out for gipsies they distract you with something and somebody else it's stealing.
If you need more info just let me know.

Take the advice about pickpocketers seriously. When we were in Rome a family we were traveling with lost all their credit cards when a pickpocketer stole the husband's wallet on the subway. I was warned in a variety of places about risks to my camera and other things. Reply to this
