Well to start the day we got picked up at a sickening hour by an very overly entusiatic guide named 'Bill', n yes he had that lovely American accent that doesn't grate on us at all :/ we know it's his job to tell us about the sights but 2 hours of Bill's californian style commentry was slowly killing us!! So we flew off the bus to stretch are legs and douse ourselves in mozzy spray ready for the jungle!! 😊
First we did a lovely river cruise to spot the crocs n we saw 2 biggies named Scarface n Nelson who defo weren't happy to see us!! Scarface did a death roll by the boat... in other words DO ONE!!
We then headed up the windy roads to the jungle which looked the spit of the 'I'm a celebrity get me out of here' backdrop! We thought it would be crawling with spiders and snakes but we didn't spot one!!
All the while Bill telling us stories of spikey plants actually hooking a lady out of the bus window causing severe injuries and making her drop her camera into the jungle never to be seen again... 'yeh alright
bill!!' it really wasnt scary at all!
Next we stopped at PK's and made our way down to Cape Tribulation beach... it really was gorgeous!! the sand actually has sparkly bits in it and went on for miles!
After getting fed we headed to Alexandra point, a lookout that you can see where the rainforest meets the reef! Apparently it was a world heritage sort of place... but we got a minute to take a pic and we wer off again!
Bill fancied an ice cream... so we stopped at Daintree orchid where they had different flavours depending on what was growing at that time! today was mango, rasberry, soursop and wattleseed... nicest ice cream ever!!
So then we got to go to Mossman Gorge which is a freshwater stream you can swim in (no crocs in sight :D) but it was absolutley freezing so we only ventured in waist deep. Even so it was a lovely sight 😊
The whole day was great n we got see some lovely sights... then Bill announced we would get 30mins free time in Port Douglas... We did NOT look appy!! After working there for 2 weeks I think we'd
had enough!!
Anyway back home to Cairns and we were knackered!! A quiet night in we thought... or not!! we were sharing our room with 2 freaky sweedish girls, who for some reason didn't wear pyjamas for bed like us good english girls!!
We were out like a light only to be awoken by the freak screaming in her sleep and leaping from the top bunk like a naked ninja!! Absolutely scaring the shit out of us we jumped up aswell thinking there was a rapist in the room the way she was carrying on!! switching the lights on to find 2 naked ugly girls legging round is quite terrifying enough! nope turns out she dreamt about being trapped in the luggage room :/ okayyyyyyyy!!
just one of the many wierdos we have shared a room with so far!! we never got any sleep with them coz of their grueling beauty regime at all hours and the bathroom hogging was just not acceptable!! haha so yeah we sound like cranks but we don't share very well 😉
Fingers crossed we don't have to share with anymore odd people!! very much doubt it to be fair...
