He was deeply asleep. Faintly her piercing screams penetrated his unconsciousness. "Indie save me, save me". In milliseconds he was wide awake, leapt up from his sleep, wrenching his whip from its permanent position on his belt. A terrifying scenario unfolded in front of his bleary eyes. His little lady was huddled in a corner one trembling arm outstretched, a finger pointing. "It's over there " she screamed. The creature squatted there, very hairy and black, and stared at them unblinking. It was horrible. Huge eyes and legs everywhere. It's tongue came out and it licked it's lips. Crack, snap - Indiana Targett's whip was a blur, but was no use in the confined space. The little lady was shrinking back into the corner trying to keep out of the way. "For God's sake" she said "Can't ... read more

Days 69 & 70 We went for an early walk around Lake Matheson where we got a great view of Mount Cook and the fox glacier and then headed to the gorgeous town of Wanaka. We went for a wander around the town, had some dinner then headed out for the night. There were quite a few people out and it was a good night - cheap beer and a live band, what more can you ask for! After a lovely long lie in we caught a bus to Monster Trucks New Zealand where Stu was in his element!! After getting kitted up in a race suit and helmet, he took to the wheel of a Tarus, the biggest monster truck in New Zealand (like Big Foot). He drove it around a track which included driving ... read more

Took off to Queenstown with Chris on 30th Dec to camp over before watching the 1st One Day International against Sri Lanka on New Years eve. The pictures speak for themselves - as does the name of the mountain range - the "Remarkables." Campsite was basic but views spectacular too. We set up camp in a little secluded spot in the trees then realised that the water's edge was the place to be, so had to move the tent. Why bother dismantling it after all the hard work! After the cricket Chris & I joined Ange (Andrew/Belinda, Mark & Katie) at the lodge after travelling 30K on a dirt track and hiking over a bridge and across a river with all our food and clothes etc. Hiked up Rob Roy Glacier on New Years day. Pictures ... read more

This morning we drove out to the start of the 'Rob Roy' track. The drive was on very bumpy unsealed roads, culminating in a '4WD recommended' section. However after being passed by 2 other camper vans we decided to contine. Eventually we got to the start of the walking track. We followed the track, climbing for about 2 hours before being rewarded with spectacular views of the Rob Roy glacier... An excellent spot for a picnic. Approaching the glacier, we could hear the rumblings of an avalanche - we were saftely on the other side of the valley.... read more

Hello and sorry to you all, I have been away for quite some time and christmas is upon us. People are hopefully done all there exams by now. And now you can all relax I hope. Christmas is a great time of year, sit by the fire on a cold day and drink so hot chocolate...Except when you are in NZ. Everywhere there are advertisements for swim wear, and commercials which say "christmas on the beach". Dear god this place is weird. I guess I should sum up where we have been for the last little while. It appears that everyone thought that we were dead or something, but if fact, it's not true. We have been pretty busy actually and we have seen some amazing things. Lets start, shall we? We took the ferry ... read more
