Last night (tonight back home in Canada), the premiere red carpet event of the opening of the Hobbit happened in Wellington - just across the strait from where we are. We could feel the buzz. We will be in Wellington on Saturday and hopefully get to see some of the leftover effect.I read an October 7, 2012 article in the New York Times by Brookes Barnes and Michael Cieply after they visited New Zealand and some of the Hobbit film locations. They describe about NZ:"the hill is perfect - steep, shaggy and as green as a radioactive shamrock, like the matching hills ... read more

Geo: -44.85, 168.388Queenstown is known for its adrenaline-inducing adventures; one can find anything from skydiving to bungy jumping or parabungy to white-water rafting. They loved him, loved his attitude, loved his prior work history. All looked to be going in his favor until it came to the actual job description. Being in human resources means being familiar with work laws, worker's comp, holiday periods, benefits, etc, etc. Being in human resources in New Zealand involves knowing all of these things ABOUT New ... read more
