Krystel Houghton turned 21 and decided to have a 21st party. On her invite it said dress code was semi formal. Anil had the idea (inspired by Owen Wilson in the motion picture "The Royal Tenenbams") to go dressed 'Semi Formal with a touch of the absurd'. This is what we looked like. When we walked in, all the Houghton Aunty's, Uncle's and Grandfolk looked puzzled coz they thought their Krystel had some weird friends. I behaved myself, the others did not. I even went on record saying that I was embarrassed to be associated with them on the night. We're still great friends though, but the fact was their antics were a bit over the top. By the way, Krystel looked hot even though there are no photos of her actual party here.... read more

So anyway, it was the weekend after the "Great Fire Of '05". Aron Dresden had come over from the great city of Melbourne, in the great state of Vitcoria to catch up with the family and the boys from Block 23, and to catch up with the many ladies he has on the go in NZ - he's a player, and don't let that quiet exterior tell you anything but. We had a quiet final fond farewell BBQ for Aron on the Hart's back deck. While it wasn't that warm, the weather had been great, so the BBQ was ripped out for the first time this 'Summer'. These are the memories we caught on the night. Please enjoy.... read more

- FOOD: Pizza place at Mission Bay with far too much choice of toppings. Ice cream parlour at Mission Bay with far too much choice of flavours. - AREA: Lovely long stretch of deserted beach. Ocean meets lake - what a sight. Te Matua Ngahere - huge Kaori tree. Sky Tower with mad Sky jumpers and good views of Auckland. Smelly Rotorua with sulphur fumes coming up through the drains. - PEOPLE: More Escape van tourists to chat to. Nice local man who towed us as we'd run the battery flat! Sad goodbyes to Stuart and his family. My friend Louise joined us. Wed 3rd: Woke up to discover yet another Escape van had parked up. How weird to see that the only 3 vehicles there were all Escape vans! The beach was so very long ... read more

- FOOD: More bacon sarnies, a good old BBQ with very good BBQ food, NZ wine - mmmm. Firewater, oyster and vodka shot - not so mmmm. Fry ups and Sunday roasts made better by the fact Stuart cooked them. - AREA: Such a nice house to have some luxuries in - our own room, a BATH with fluffy towel, general relaxing amongst family. A party like one of mine. Some local sites. - PEOPLE: My lovely cousin, his lovely wife and their ADORABLE baby. Jo's welcoming parents. Sat 30th July: We got out of Thames as fast as possible as it had no atmosphere and stopped for a bacon sandwich in a lovely big, green field area. Arrived at Stuart's at long last - him and his wife Joanne and their 3 month old son ... read more
