Well i've really started to get to know some locals, guys that come in quite a bit. One of my fav regulars, Dan, is a kiwi but has been over here and all over the world for a long time. Anyways, he's 38 years old and has just retired. He's got it pretty good! Sadly though, he's left Southern Cross which sucks for me, he was really nice! Jo and I had a night off together as a local girl works the bar with the skimpy ( a girl in lingerie behind the bar) on Thursday nights. Skimpy's are a big part of history out in this area because of all the goldmines, the miners needed some entertainment back in the day. Well, here I am in Southern Cross, population: 1000. There is nothing around here but mines, farms and desert. My new boss Jo was at the train station to pick me up when I arrived. She drove me into town and took me to the local coffee shop. Not much variety here my friends. Then she drove me to the Railway Tavern, my new home. It's an old pub, about 100 years old. Above the pub are 9 rooms. There is only 2 girls bathrooms in the whole place. One in the pub and one upstairs. My room isn't very big but it's all mine and I dont have to share it with anyone.
