When I checked the final publishing of the blog I discovered some of the text had been deleted. Here is the updated version. I forgot to note that the first photo in the last blog was a photo of myself and my big sister Judy. Sally wondered if we were twins when I said we looked alike. I must report that the rain we experienced whilst in Walpole flooded Gnomesville and did considerable damage. There is a great group of volunteers who take care of it and I am sure they are already at work restoring it to it's former glory. Well I'm writing this the night before I work my last ever shift at The Railway Tavern. Feels very weird to be saying that. I remember being terrified of this place and some of the people here the first day I arrived. Now i've become such good friends with all of them that as much as I want to go it will still be hard to go and even harder to say goodbye to some people. I've already had to say quite a few goodbyes as it is Christmas and people have already left town to go to Perth or else where. A few people will still be here tomorrow. Well, I'm in my last year of being in my 20's now. Can't believe how fast my 20's have gone. I've been very lucky to travel as much as I have in the last few years. I was finally given a day off on my birthday. I slept in and then Kylie and Jade came and took me out for lunch at the other pub. Man it was SO nice to see some other scenery haha. Had a great lunch and then spent the afternoon relaxing. All the AMMS boys came down after work to celebrate with me. Had a good low key kind of night. Hello everyone! Life in the Southern Cross is still just as crazy. Last week I did 65 hours and i'm wiped! But because i'm always working and the locals seem to love me I have about $250 in my tip jar even though they don't tip in Australia. Go me!!! I have an 82 year old Scottish guy named Alex chasing after me when he comes into the pub. I also have a 72 year old named Jim who is head over heels for me haha. He owns the tire service shop in town and has suddenly been coming into the pub almost every night. Last night he asked me to go for a drive with him so we could have a kiss and a cuddle hahaha. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and ate way too much! Not too much new here in Southern Cross. Our skimpy missed the train on thursday morning so we didn't have a skimpy on Thursday night so I ended up working. The other girl who works on Thursday night, Kylie, decided not to work as it was her birthday so it was a big night for me all on my own. Turned out to be a good night though. As there was no skimpy I got more attention then I wanted haha. Note to self, leaving your hand on the bar is not a good idea.
