We went into the town of Dallwallinu to check out the sights and discovered there were none. The attraction is all about the wildflowers in the area. It is a tidy pretty town with lovely landscaping. Chris was amazed that there are some of the most spectacular native wildflowers in the region and the main plantings down the middle of the street were petunias! We really liked the tractor on display in the main street park. There is an excellent craft shop with nothing but quality offerings, we purchased some homemade lemon lime cordial, some 4 fruit and ginger marmalade and another in the series of WA wildflower books. Tom Price - Karajini National Park - Karatha We left Exmouth about 9am heading for Paraburdoo and Tom Price. At 4pm it started to rain and it was still 100k to Paraburdoo, so we pulled into the Beasley River rest area along with seven other travellers. The open fire was inviting and we all gathered around telling travelling stories with the mandatory happy hour drinks. Next morning we continued on to Tom Price with a short detour around the streets and shopping centre of Paraburdoo. Everything was going fine until we made the final turn to the Tom Price Caravan Park. DAY 163 Wow, what a great nights sleep, out in the bush and I felt quite comfortable about it so aiding my restful sleep, I watched the sunrise through the mosquito net, it was beautiful as it appeared over the dam. However, poor Andy did not sleep at all well, he is not sure why as he is generally an excellent sleeper and not much will wake him once asleep, the only thing I can think is that he went to bed extra early and perhaps it was too early. The sun streamed into the tent through the mosquito nets, really heralding that it was time to get up, we were up at 7.00 a nice early start to the day.
