Geo: -37.6515, 145.379We dropped the Frodshams at the airport, after another scrumptious meal at Laksa Kings. Then we drove to our home exchange house at Yarra Glen where we will stay until our return to Brisbane on Friday.On Monday we went for a drive to Healesville and then on to Marysville, the town that was ravaged by the 2009 "Black Saturday" bushfires. We saw lots of fire-blackened and dead trees. Although all the damaged buildings have been removed, Marysville has not recovered from the disaster and "For Sale" signs are everywhere.Visited a number of vineries: Punt Road, Domaine Chandon (flash lunch), Oakridge, Napoleone (brewery and cider house), Meletos, Yering Station, etc. Tasted wines from $22 to $89 and reconfirmed my view that price is no predictor of my wine preference, even from the same vineyard. On a passé une super nuit dans un lit bien confortable, après 3 semaines dans le van ça fait du bien! D'ailleurs je traine un peu au lit, puis sur le PC alors Nico a commencé à bosser...bon après une petite séance de skype, je m'y mets aussi. Eh oui il faut bien justifier tout ce bon manger et ce logement! Notre mission principale pour les jours à venir est le jardinage: tailler les buissons, les arbres, arracher les mauvaises arbres etc. Et vu la taille de la propriété, y'a du boulot! On ne sais plus combien mais c'est bien grand, une belle maison avec petite piscine et veranda, quelques chevaux, un manège, un champ immense et un peu de forêt, voilà pour la description. At breaky today we were discussing the day's plan with Paul when the mystery of the no-toll toll road was solved. Paul informed us there is a sophisticated camera and database system that photographs the license plate (registry) of EVERY car that goes on the toll road (mind you, these are sometimes 3-4 lanes each direction). A driver can go online or call a phone number before or after the trip to arrange payment, but will incur a fine if the toll is not paid within 72 hours of travel. Frequent travellers can buy a pass, of course, but are not allowed to let anyone else use it. How a visitor is supposed to know all this we have no idea.
