Fun on the Murray River A houseboat on the Murray isn’t really complete without a speed boat to provide additional entertainment and a bit of exercise. Les, Daniel’s step-dad, owns such a boat and is an expert water-skier. We all spent the long hot days having great fun knee-boarding and learning how to ski, not to mention taking delight in the big crashes and face-plants that come with learning a new water sport. We had a few injuries along the way, a badly pulled hamstring (not Dan's thankfully) and a few painful backs and necks. Upon arriving in Australia our first engagement was an early Christmas (22nd Dec) and family gathering in Geelong. It was many years since Daniel’s family had got together and sadly were just missing older brother Cameron who recently relocated to Hong Kong for work. We had a lovely meal, a few drinks, plenty of catching up and new introductions with Natalie meeting lots of new faces. Natalie was welcomed into the family during the solitary speech of the day which was a lovely gesture. The family cricket match in the nearby park was a great success and the family elder statesmen noted some of the young cousins have a bit of talent.
