Becoming a Sydneysider has been fun... So, as a lot of you know, I am enjoying the life of luxury in Sydney, with my own room, DOUBLE bed, access to fridge, tv, a personal tour guide with a car and places/ reasons to wear my nice clothes (and heels once or twice!) I have also had a lot of acces too the internet, so have been Skyping and talking to people and have thus neglected my BLOGGING entries. I have just finished watching Airforce 1. Stephen has a new huge TV, blu-ray DVDs and High Definition player. I have watched so far: Catch me if you can, The Prestigue, Aviator and many others, laying on a super comphy sofa drinking green tea. Christmas day in the heat was amazing. I didnt leave the plot of ... read more
Christmas in Sydney - Dec 08
Published: September 26th 2009Oceania » Australia » New South Wales » Sydney » RosevilleWe had a fairly quiet Christmas this year. It was just me, James, Mum, Dad and Gowzaaaaa, and on Christams Day we all met under Roseville Bridge for a picnic! Mum and Dad went to church while James and I did the present thing at home and I think we even went for a run on the beach and got some exercise in, as there was definitely going to be none of that later. We all went BYO on the lunch food and all managed to bring loads of tasty stuff. Then we put it all together on our table and shared it around. After lunch we kicked back on rugs under the trees and chilled out, playing UNO. There were loads of families down there in the Garigal National Park which runs alongside Middle Harbour, ... read more
Sydney to Brisbane
Published: April 19th 2008Oceania » Australia » New South Wales » Sydney » RosevilleSurf Camp We left Bens house at an ungodly 5am to catch our first Oz Experience bus! This is where we start to realize just how big Australia is as our first leg is nine hours and we dont reach anywhere in particular! Surf camp is on the coast, obviously, far from any real civilisation which is nice. We arrived late afternoon and after getting ourselves squared away in very very basic accomodation we were treated to a BBQ dinner followed by a party down on the beach where many beers were had and i spent most of my time chatting to a bloke from Guildford, small world! (also stars were amazing! southern cross orion belt and all that) Next day up at 6am with rather sore heads we were given massive beginer sized surf boards ... read more

My Harbour Bridge New Years
Published: January 1st 2007Oceania » Australia » New South Wales » Sydney » RosevilleI had one of the best New Years in a long time! We didn't really plan it out much ahead of time. But let me back up to Saturday. Joyce couldn't join me for the Hunter Valley tour. She had a lot to do at home. So I went alone with the group. There was a family with adult sons from outside of London, a retired couple from Perth, a family with two little kids from Queensland, and a young couple from Brighton. I was the only yank. It was a lovely day. It was rainy in Sydney, but the 2 hour drive took us out to the sunny valleys and vineyards. We toured 4 different wineries. (And yes, I did drink some merlot!) I picked up some bottles to give to Joyce and her family ... read more
