Bondi Beach

Got up at 9ish. Caught the train and bus to Bondi Beach. Stopped at Westfield Shopping Centre to get towels and sun cream. Got to the beach about 11am and it was already 30oC and we could feel it. Swam and sunned watching the beautiful people passing by. The only down side was the wind was quite strong and sand get everywhere. (Was still finding it in the fat rolls in the evening!!) About 12.30 had to leave the beach because I was cooking, even with the suncream on at Factor 30+. You so easily forget the intensity of the sun. Went to the beachside café and had ham and cheese croissant. Eat that and then sat on the lawns above the beach. Once again got too hot and had to leave. Realised we didn’t have enough to get the bus back to The Junction so had to walk up the hills. Murder on the poor feet. Fortunately we did buy a return ticket on the train so managed to get that and it wasn’t too bad. Had cool showers at the hotel but I am burnt on the back of my legs. Missed that bit with the cream. It is so hot to touch and is causing a little bit of pain. Put some after sun care cream on and cold water. Got the train in to Darling Harbour. Bought a weekly red zone ticket because we worked out it would be cheaper. Caught the ferry to Darling Harbour. It went under the Sydney Harbour Bridge to Luna Park and then to Balmain followed by Aquarium. The bridge is awe inspiring it is so big. Pacific Princess was leaving Sydney as we were chugging along, so waved to the passengers and wished then bon voyage. Got off the Ferry at Aquarium and had a few beers and potato wedges in a harbour side pub. After spending about an hour there, caught the monorail on a round trip. It was nice but once is enough. Caught a ferry to Luna Park and a train over the bridge. We’ve been under, over and we go above the bridge in a couple of days. Went back to the hotel and got ready to hit Oxford Street. Walked down there it only took about 15 minutes and it was a pleasant walk in the balmy evening weather. Saw a posse (calling it that because I don’t know the correct term and I think it sounds wicked) of fruit bats flying out of the city. It looked fantastic in the evening sky that was starting to turn pink. Went to Wagamama’s for dinner. We were served by a very nice young man from Chiswick in London. He’s over here on a work visa. When we sat down he asked if we’d been to Wagamama’s before. I said in London and he replied the menu is exactly the same! Had a bowl of Chicken Ramen and a nice bottle of wine. Very yummy. We had a coffee in a little coffee shop and went to Stonewall pub. Had a few drinks there. Seen one gay pub seen them all. After went to DCM. It is a dance mad club with good music and nice boyz! Really good fun. Left about 3am and walked back to hotel. Bed straight away
