08-13-15 Short tour to Seredepity On Tues. morning at 2 am, I went to the ball field to see the Perseid s Meteor Shower. It was pretty dark around here which is what I wanted, but stumbling around I had to be careful. I set up my chair and waited for the show to begin and my eyes to become accustomed to the dark. The stars were brilliant with the milky way clearly visible. It was really hard for me to make out the constellations because there were too many stars blurring the lines. I didn't have to wait long before a meteor streaked by, so fast and faint I wondered if I really saw it. We've had a delightful summer at the Spokane RV & Golf Resort in Deer Park, Washington... the golf course as our back yard; very good friends; dry, hot weather just right for golf. We had concerts at Arbor Crest Winery, a boat tour on Lake Pend Orielle, a blues festival at Cusick, a jet boat trip on the Snake River, and golf, golf, golf. Perfect! The highlight of the summer was a "cousin" reunion at Robinson Lake, family property in north Idaho. Of the fifteen first cousins (all descendants of W.D. and Almeda LaMotte), twelve made it to the reunion, some traveling from as far away as Florida, Illinois, and Texas.
