Roadtrip SW USA...of Goblins and Castles. When planning our South West USA Roadtrip from Oz...our plans were simple. Fly into St George, Utah as its near Zion, hire a car and drive to stay with Home & Away in Colorado. On the way we would wing it, see what we can...with only two musts...The Wave (which we didn't know was in Arizona)...and Goblin Valley State Park in Utah ('cause we like the name)...no real idea how to get there. That was the plan. As we avoided the LHT to Goblin from Mexican Hat...flew instead with the ravens over Canyonlands and Arches...we were as usual short of time. Farewell dinner in SLC was quite good. It was a yummy buffet (with pretty yummy desserts) held on the 10th floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. With a great view of Temple Square and the temple itself. While the food was good, the drinks were a bit less than what we hoped. Since the restaurant is LDS owned, no coffee, no tea, and no alcohol. I am going to skip Las Vegas since that only cost me money and I think you all know how crazy and fun Vegas is. By the way the money was for a new laptop not gambling ! Our next stop was Bryce Canyon and it was yet another beautiful park. I know we are taking too many pictures, but the Hoodoos and Grattos were so unusual and amazing. Enjoy the pictures. We are already at Yellowstone and Grand Tetons and I can't begin to describe their beauty. Forgot to mention we finally got to have a campfire and relax in the spa at Bryce, what a treat that was. More in a day or two. Love to all............ read more
