Was dann am nächsten Morgen prompt geschah. Zehn Minuten nachdem die Mädchen die Wohnung verlassen haben, ... read more

The Itch So i have 10 days and counting and the itch is starting to come on. I have bought the LP Korea book and been reveiwng that. Korea is going to be my substitueiton for Japan and I am pleasently surprised how similar they SEEM to be. I still get my Urban Technological Euphoria and Cherry Blossoms so all is well... I have booked a hostel for Busan, in S. Korea. On another note I was reviewing my Tree Top Asia Zip lining tour and discovered they have me down for OCTOBER 5th. I think I mixed up the day and month order on the resevation request on the website. I have sent a request to have them change my tour to MAY 10th. Also, I have completed the packing list, and it comes ... read more

Unfortunatley the earthquake/Tusnami in Japan has forced me to change my itinearary. I am very upset that I don't get to go, but imagine it would not be the same even if I did. It is very unfortunate what happened to Japan and I hope the nation can pull through. I will still visit Japan in the future, in a couple ears and make it a trip of its own. Nevertheless, the trip must go on. I have decided to detour to South Korea and visit there for a few days before heading over to China a little early. I have done absolutley zero research on SOuth Korea and have less than two weeks to figure out what I want to do. I have to call the airline and deal with the fee changes, but flights ... read more

Today i decided to copy all of my important documents at work. Long story short the copy machine jammed on the last document that ran through. I was worried that I might have a page or two stuck in the printer and someone would see me printing an itanar and ask where/what I was doing. Fortunately that didn't happen, but it took 3 guys standing around the copy machine opening and slamming doors, ink trays and other levers 15 minuntes to fix it. The countdown continues. ...that we're going to Vietnam and Japan in less than 1 week. I printed out a couple of travel lists and we started picking up misc things for the trip. Stuff like suntan lotion, bug spray, pepto, etc. It's one thing to go on a trip for a weekend or a week or two...but to pack for a 4 week vacation half way around the world is something else...:-) This will be my first attempt at a blog...so if it gets boring, try to enjoy the pics...:p On our last big trip (Europe), I took way to much camera stuff...this time I'm just taking a Canon SD1000 and a Kodak Zx3 for video. Let's hope everything turns out good. ... read more

Well, its been a while on the updates. For one the internet here sucks, wether because of the weather or our crappy router. LNKSYS sucks, don't get it. Anyway, some updates on the trip. It seems like everywhere I am going the end of the world is coming. If I waited for everything to be right I don't think I would ever get to go on this trip. I have contacted the Dive Shop in Thailand and though some of the dive sites in the Similian Islands (as well as other parts of Thailand) are closed, he assured me that their are many other sites within the islands. Apparently the islands are nine diffierent islands with dozens of dive sites. I have a connecting flight from Bangkok to Rome via CAIRO! Haha. Might be changing that ... read more

Sunday 30 Jan.11 In Dallas at the Adolphus til very late check out – they allow 1pm. Due to fact I was having a meltdown re “loss” of Ipod and all my digital information. Finally found it fallen into a slot in my pack – phew. Then rolled the bag over to new hotel 2 blocks away (down town Dallas fortunately quite small blocks) Aloft Dallas – a W Hotel – for the funky young things, a warehouse conversion and quite different from the Olde Worlde Adolphus. 14 feet ceilings and some exposed walls and different textures and colours. Then out for a walk – to the Dallas Museum of Art – a good African mask exhibition the main exhibition. And selection form their American moderns. Pity I only had an hour. A free trolley runs ... read more

San Fran to Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) was the order of the day. Paranoid about being dumped from US flights got the 8.15 BART so was at airport before 9am fro 10.25 flight (unusual for me). American seem to fly the oldest airframes in the business – MD80 – that a DC9 like Ansett used to fly! The flight is 3 ½ hrs and they give you a can of pop – you are hardly done by on QF with dinner on domestic flights! Into DFW and bused (free) to the Remote South (carpark). Altho th trinity Railroad Express (TRE) runs Dallas-Ft Worth M-Fr + Sat (no Sun) with almost a 2 hr gap decided to try the 408 bus from there, change to 409 later. The bus was sitting there but left 10 mins late. All ... read more

Drove back from the lake house following an enjoyable breakfast at a local Denny’s. Our hosts invited the bar owner, Jerry, and his wife for dinner tonight, and he brought his guitar with him. He played some his and our hosts favourite songs. A very relaxing evening was had by all. ... read more
