Early morning we crossed the Columbia River again as we headed down the Oregon Coast, first Seaside, then on to Ecola State Park. More pleasant walking and scenery and hardly anyone around. Cannon Beach is well known but we were pleasantly surprised by the village. By now the weather was improving and we moved south to Oswald West State Park where there are great views of Manzanita Beach. We didn’t have time to climb Neahkahnie Mountain as intended where, we believe, there are great views. I’d lost a day in planning the trip and having booked all the hotels, we had to be in Portland by night. On to Tillamook and Cape Meres State Park, then a good drive to Portland which we hit at peak rush hour. We certainly learned a lot about Portland's road
